WOODRUFF, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - An Upstate school district confirmed their Facebook has been hacked after a series of strange posts were made this week.
Beginning Wednesday night shortly before 6:15 p.m., images of children’s bedrooms began popping up on the Facebook for Spartanburg School District 4.
The images, many of which appear to be AI-generated, were posted with captions like “Nice bedroom” and “Kids Beautiful Rooms” with heart emojis.

On Thursday morning, a district spokesperson confirmed they were aware of the issue and working to get it resolved.
Facebook recommends the following tips to help keep your account secure:
- Create a strong password and don’t share it with anyone.
- Avoid phishing scams. Some scammers create fake websites that look like Facebook to ask for your email and password.
- Log out of Facebook if you use a shared computer.
- Don’t accept friend requests from people you don’t know.
- Never click suspicious links, including links in Facebook posts, even if they appear to come from someone you know.
- Sign up for extra security options including two-factor authentication and alerts about unrecognized logins.
