COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Draco is a 2-year-old cat up for adoption at Pawmetto Lifeline.

Draco’s mom fell on hard times and became homeless. She was living in her car with Draco. As heartbreaking as it was for her, she wanted a better life for Draco and surrendered him for adoption. She clearly had taken very good care of Draco. He was healthy, well fed, socialized and already microchipped and neutered.

Draco is 16 pounds of love! He is a very handsome boy! Draco is super friendly and has never met a stranger. He is very sweet and loves to be petted and brushed. Draco will roll over on his back like a dog when you come to see him!

When his owner became homeless, she kept him on a harness and leash to keep him safe. Draco still enjoys an occasional stroll in the grass with a human! He walks well on his leash but will flop over to let you know when he’s done walking.

Draco’s previous owner said he has only met one cat before. Pawmetto Lifeline has not directly tested him with other cats yet, but he seems to not be bothered by the other cats in kennels around him. A slow introduction to other cats in the home is always recommended.

Pawmetto Lifeline will hold a special “PURRIS 2024 MEOWLYMPICS” adoption event on Friday, June 7th to Saturday, June 8th. Pawmetto’s Meowlympians are ready to compete for your heart and take home the gold to a fur-ever family! You can adopt a cat or kitten for $50 or 2 for $75. Adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, microchip and up-to-date vaccines.

Pawmetto Lifeline is open for adoptions Tuesday through Friday from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Get a head start on the adoption process by completing an application before your visit at www.pawmettolifeline.org.
