South Carolina’s season ends with loss to JMU in NCAA Regional
GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - South Carolina baseball’s season ended Sunday with a 2-0 loss against James Madison University in the team’s third game in the NCAA Tournament Raleigh Regional. The loss in the elimination bracket of the regional ends the Gamecocks’ season.
The season comes to a close with the first time the Gamecocks were shut out in a game since April 3rd.
For the three games in their regional trip, South Carolina beat James Madison 8-7 in a 10th inning walk-off in the first game Friday, lost to NC State 6-4 in the second game Saturday, and lost 2-0 to James Madison in the third game Sunday.
The Gamecocks finish with a 37-25 overall record and a 13-17 SEC record. They also had a 22-10 home record at Founders Park in Columbia, a 9-10 away record and a 6-5 neutral site record.
