FORT STEWART, Ga. (WTOC) - After nearly a year overseas - 250 Fort Stewart soldiers are spending the night with friends and family back here at home.

For nine months, the 3rd Division Sustainment Brigade was deployed to Poland in support of NATO Allies and Partners, to deter further aggression against NATO member states and to support training with host-nation forces. During their time in Poland, the brigade supported multinational training with allies and regional security partners to increase military interoperability and deter adversaries in the European Theater.

”12-13 years since my last deployment and it was just the three of us. This is our first deployment so I knew it was going to be emotional. I was part of the first group that left, and the last group that came back. I was in the back looking around to see where they were. It was emotional; I just missed them so much,” said Sgt. Maj. Hector Rodriguez.

Col. Jennifer McDonough, 3rd DSB Commander said her team did a tremendous job, " I’m incredibly proud of the team for what they did, for the amount of change they made in Eastern Europe as rotational force is astronomical. Being able to set supplies in the right place at the right time, has set us up for many many years to come.”

This brigade was replaced by the 1st Cavalry Division Sustainment Brigade.
