MCENTIRE JOINT NATIONAL GUARD BASE, S.C. – The South Carolina Air National Guard (SCANG) will host the annual Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps “Top Gun” Drill Meet on Saturday, April 13, 2024.

The competition began at 8:30 a.m. with a break for lunch at 11 a.m. and resumed from 12:15-12:30 p.m. The drill meet concluded with a formation and awards presentation at 3:00 p.m.

More than 350 cadets from South Carolina high schools, representing Army, Navy, and Air Force JROTC training programs, competed for honors in 12 drill and ceremony competition events.

The SCANG has been supporting the competition for more than two decades and has seen the program grow exponentially.

“The Top Gun Drill meet has become like the state championship for JROTC. The competition gets stronger every year,” said Senior Master Sgt. Kenneth Monroe, event coordinator, and SCANG Recruiting superintendent.
