GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - UnitedHealthcare said it is actively working with Prisma Health, South Carolina’s largest healthcare system, to bring patients back into their network.
Prisma providers have been out-of-network for UnitedHealthcare (UHC) customers since the first of the year after failed negotiations between the two.
UHC said it submitted its ninth proposal, which includes additional rate increases, to Prisma on March 21.
Prisma Health had originally asked for a 24-percent price hike to cover “extraordinary inflationary costs” - an amount UHC called “outlandish.”
Below is the latest statement issued to UHC customers on the negotiations:
“Prisma Health remains at the negotiating table,” said a spokesperson for the healthcare system.
Additional information for patients with Medicare Advantage plans is available on Prisma’s website.
