The New York Mets' Jeff McNeil hit a two-run home run to break a sixth-inning tie, and the New York Mets held on to top the New York Yankees 3-2 on July 23, 2024, at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, N.Y., in the opener of their subway series. The Mets' Jose Quintana and five relief pitchers combined for a five-hitter before a sellout crowd of 47,453. The Mets improved to 52-48, while the Yankees fell to 60-43.
