Every year we approach members of the community to ask for help with support for our Christmas Hamper Program. We will be holding a small event on Friday, November 24, 2023 at our Childcare Centre on Tenth Street. There are a variety of ways to contribute to the 2023 Christmas Hamper Program.
Tillicum Lelum is pleased to announce that the documentary “Tillicum Lelum; A Saving Grace” can now be watched on demand anytime. This documentary originally aired on National Indigenous Peoples Day, June 21, 2023. It chronicles the life’s work of Grace Elliott Nielsen and her staff in creating and maintaining one of Canada’s longest running Aboriginal Friendship Centre’s.
Our very own Courtney Defriend has been awarded the Governor General’s Gold Medal for her research and paper at her Royal Roads’ June 2023 convocation where she graduated with a Doctor of Social Sciences degree.
Tillicum Lelum Aboriginal Friendship Centre started out as a coffee drop-in and recreation centre over 50 years ago and has grown into a large organization with multiple properties, nearly sixty programs and over eighty staff members.
