Volodymyr Zelensky

Volodymyr Zelensky is the president of Ukraine. Zelensky was born in Kryvyi Rih on January 25 1978 and studied law at the Kyiv National Economic University. Before venturing into politics he worked as a comedian, television producer and actor on predominantly Russian-language productions. A self-identified populist, Zelensky was inaugurated in May 2019 after a campaign in which he vouched to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. In February 2022, however, his country was invaded by Russian forces.
