Tony Blair

Tony Blair is a former British Labour Party leader who served as the prime minister of the United Kingdom from 1997 until 2007. Following his first premiership, during which he enacted constitutional reforms and increased public spending, he was re-elected in 2001 and 2005. His second premiership saw the United Kingdom enter the war on terror, with the British Armed Forces participating in the invasions of Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003.  He resigned the party leadership and as prime minister in 2007, and was succeeded by Gordon Brown.
