Labour Party

The Labour Party is a political party in the United Kingdom. It sits on the centre-left of the political spectrum and has either acted as the governing party or the official Opposition since 1922. It was formed in 1900 and has since produced six prime ministers. Over the past century it has shaped Britain in a number of ways, including forming the NHS, introducing the minimum wage, ending the death penalty, decriminalising homosexuality and outlawing racial discrimination. Labour prime ministers include Clement Attlee, Harold Wilson, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, who led the last Labour government between 2007 and 2010.
