Kim Jong-un

Kim Jong-un is the supreme leader of North Korea. He is the country’s third supreme leader, after his father, Kim Jong-il, and grandfather Kim Il-sung. Kim, who succeeded his father upon his death in December 2011, rules the country as a totalitarian dictatorship. A 2014 UNHRC inquiry into human rights in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea suggested that he could be put on trial for crimes against humanity.
