James Cleverly

James Cleverly was appointed home secretary by Rishi Sunak in November 2023. He served as foreign secretary from 2022 to 2023 under two prime ministers and as education secretary for two months in 2022. Cleverly has been the Conservative MP for Braintree since 2015. He was born in Lewisham, southeast London, and studied hospitality management at Ealing College of Higher Education, now the University of West London.
