The Arab Republic of Egypt is a Middle Eastern country in northeast Africa bordered by the Gaza Strip, Israel, Sudan and Libya. It has a rich history dating back thousands of years and is home to one of the earliest civilizations along the River Nile. The country is known for the pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Egypt is governed by the president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. A culturally diverse nation, it has a population of close to 100 million people, making it the most populous in the region. The country’s economy is heavily reliant on agriculture, tourism, and the Suez Canal, a vital waterway connecting the Mediterranean and Red Seas.
