Unsubstantiated rumours are swirling that the former two-division champion may be out of UFC 303’s main event after suffering an injury.

And McGregor, 35, has appeared to lean into them by sharing a photo of himself seemingly lying down on a physio's chair on Instagram.

The UFC’s poster boy smiled wryly in the snap, which included a muscle emoji as the caption.

Scores of the Dubliner’s 45 million followers flooded the comment section to demand clarity, with one writing: "WTF is going on?"

McGregor's post came hours after former three-time Bellator lightweight champ Chandler hinted that he's LEFT his training camp.

Chandler, 37, has been preparing for the biggest fight of his career at Kill Cliff FC in Deerfield, Florida.

But on Wednesday, he wrote on Instagram: "If you’re looking for me, I’ll be out in Tennessee.

"No way out of the life we chose… Walk On. See you at the top!"

Neither McGregor nor the UFC brass have given a reason for the short-notice cancellation of Monday’s presser.

Both, however, issued apologetic statements to the 10,000 fans set to attend the 3Arena.

McGregor said: "In consultation with the UFC, today's press conference was cancelled due to a series of obstacles outside of our control.

"I apologise to my Irish fans, and fans around the world, for the inconvenience and appreciate all your passion and support.

"I can’t wait to put on the greatest all-time show in the octagon."
