NATE DIAZ has BEATEN Jorge Masvidal after 10 brutal rounds in California.
Diaz got his revenge for their last bout five years ago in the UFC, with Masvidal winning their grudge match for the BMF title.
The 39-year-old was victorious by way of a split decision, with the judges scoring the bout 95-95, 97-93 and 98-92.
When asked what was next, Diaz called out Jake Paul for a blockbuster rematch - and he also said he has his sights set on Leon Edwards.

Judges scorecards
Nate Diaz was victorious against Jorge Masvidal by way of split decision.
One judge scored the bout even at 95-95 - but they were overruled by the two scores in Diaz's favour of 97-93 and 98-92.
Diaz now boasts a boxing record of 1-1, with his only defeat coming against Jake Paul, which he is keen to rectify.

Jorge Masvidal was confident going into the scorecard.
Both fighters celebrated at the end of the fight.
When it was declared that Nate Diaz had won by split decision, Masvidal look shocked.
Interviewed after the fight he said he thought he did enough to win it and landed some bigger punches than his opponent.
At this point the crowd started to boo.
He then offered Diaz the chance of another rematch but it seems he has his eyes firmly set on Jake Paul.

Diaz lays down marker for next fight
Nate Diaz got his revenge in the ring tonight against Jorge Masvidal.
Two of the judges had it down as a convincing win for the MMA legend.
After the fight he was asked what was next for him to which Diaz replied:
"I'm gonna beat Jake Paul's f****** ass!"
He then ended his interview, before leaving the ring, by proclaiming:
"Jake Paul and anyone else.....you're dead!"

You would not want to be a judge for this one.
Every round is so tough to call.
Diaz lands some blows that seem to get through and have impact but then Masvidal comes back and lands combos that sets Diaz on the backfoot.
This has been a brilliant fight between two fighters who are not all about the boxing life but they have sure given the 18,000 in the Honda Arena something worth watching.
With so many PPV events just being a money spinner and nothing more than an exhibition event, this one gave the fans their money's worth.

Credit where it is due to both fighters, this has been a real slugfest.
It is like going back to the old days of boxing with the likes of Riddick Bowe where defence was an after thought as they just looked to keep landing hits on one another.
Masvidal lands some big hits, sending Diaz on the back foot, but once again DIaz shifts it up a gear and comes back swinging.
Considering neither of these guys are boxers the fact that they are still giving it their all heading into the tenth round is impressive.

According to some of the pundits, they have Diaz edging this by a point.
He is really starting to have his say more in this fight now.
One thing we always knew from his MMA career was that Nate Diaz often looked like he was down and out but he has a reserve tank like no other fighter.
Masvidal comes on the offensive and lands some clean punches to the head.
This is starting to turn into a scrap between two men who refuse to go down or lose face.

These are two warriors in the ring right here.
It may not be a classic boxing bout but these guys can take more than most boxers out there.
Diaz lands a series of blows to Masvidal that really rock him for the first time in this fight.
He looks to follow it up with more hits and he seems to have him in trouble.
Masvidal rides the blows and comes back around to counter just as the bell rings.

We are no closer to finding a winner in this.
They are exchanging blows like this is a Kimbo Slice fight in his front yard.
Diaz is struggling to get through the guard of Masvidal, where as his opponent is landing more clean hits.
This would be a tough one to call on the card with the fight being scored on the ten point per round rule.
Masvidal is catching Diaz with some brilliant left hand counter-punches.

While these fighters have made the crossover from MMA, often their punching does not look like what you expect from a boxer.
However, where it works to their advantage, these guys are used to taking a lot of hits and battling on like warriors.
At times Diaz has looked like Masvidal has rocked him but the guy could take a serious of baseball bats to the body and head, shake them off and come back at you.
Credit where it is due, both fighters are giving it their all in this ring.

Nate Diaz more often than not is literally 'throwing' punches.
It is not what you are used to see in a sanctioned boxing fight.
Nothing he has thrown has rocked his opponent at all but it seems the big hits by Masvidal are having an effect on Diaz.
That said, it is difficult to tell as Nate Diaz looks like he has done 3000 rounds with Mike Tyson in his peak at the best of times.
A lot of Diaz's punches already looked tired ones and we are only in the fourth round.

Diaz starts to go on the attack more in the round.
The problem is, whenever he does this it seems to spark Masvidal into life and he catches him with some solid combos.
Masvidal seems to be using the angles more and also using more of a traditional boxing style.
That round definitely goes to Masvidal he seems to rock Diaz a few times with his hits.

You have to wonder that Masvidal has come into this over-confident.
He just seems happy to absorb what Diaz has to throw at him.
It may be a tactic to keep more in the tank for the later rounds.
From what we have seen in the first two rounds, Jorge Masvidal seems the more competent boxer where as Nate Diaz seems to resort to punches more suited to the MMA octagon.
When Masvidal goes into his defence, Diaz does box properly but when under pressure he is throwing wild punches that may floor someone if he didn't have gloves on.

Masvidal tries the mind games from the off.
He walks out of his corner with a southpaw stance, despite not being one.
As they were getting ready for the start of the fight, he seemed to blow a kiss to Diaz.
Diaz remains unphased and starts the better of the two fighters.
Masvidal has a tight defence but continues to allow Diaz to work the boddy and try and break his defence with head shots.
You would have to say that Nate Diaz edged the first round.

This is quite an even match-up.
Both fighter are 39-years-old and have a reach of twenty-five inches.
After their last encounter, Diaz was left with a bitter taste and has let everyone know about it.
Masvidal, during his pre-fight interview, was running his hand across his throat telling the interview what he is going to do Diaz should be illegal.
Here we go, ten rounds of boxing and pure hatred.

We have just had the star spangled banner and that can only mean one thing..........it's fight time!
Some of the undercard were great fights, many would struggle to make bouncers in bars bat an eyelid.
But now, we have the fight everyone has come to see.

You have to wonder what lies ahead for Daniel Jacobs.
The comeback he made after his health battles, possibly his greatest win of his life let alone career, is amazing but this did not go well for him.
Mosley Jr will have his eyes set on his next targets but this was not the fight Jacobs was hoping for.

You have to wonder what lies ahead for Daniel Jacobs.

Jacobs finally lets his hands go in the tenth round.
If he had done this from the start we could have a fight on our hands.
He was too conservative during the fight but landed some great hits in the final round.
Sadly for Daniel Jacobs it was all too little, too late.
It would be unbelievable if this card went any other way than to Mosley Jr.
Daniel Jacobs vs Shane Mosley Jr. (Round 9)
The fan are already calling for the main event.
Jacobs is trying to throw some haymaker punches but not connecting.
Mosley Jr seems content to see this out to the scorecard now,
Considering this is a co-main event, it has been quite the let down.
Daniel Jacobs vs Shane Mosley Jr. (Round 8)
Mosley Jr lands a right hand but then tries to go inside and the pair clash heads.
Jacobs turns away immediately after the headbutt and his eye is badly cut on the eyelid.
The referee allows him to have it treated and the fight continues.
Mosley Jr looks to target the cut to get this fight finished.
It looks even less likely that Jacobs is going to have anything in the tank to get the knockout he needs even more so now.

There is no doubt that Mosley Jr has this on the card currently.
Consdering how long these boxers spend in their camps preparing for the fights, it is so annoying when they do not seem willing to let their hands go.
We have not seen a good fight since 18-year-old Curmel Moton.
Mosely Jr seems to be flagging in terms of energy at times but Jacobs is not seizing the opportunity.
Daniel Jacobs vs Shane Mosley Jr. (Round 6)
If this fight goes to the card, it is unlikely to favour Jacobs.
He needs to change his tactics if he is going to win this fight.
Mosley Jr lands punches but then stands there to admire his work without following it up.
With only four rounds left, Jacobs is getting danngerously close to only have a knockout as an option for victory.

Mosley Jr seems to be tiring now and his jabs have less power behind them.
The crowd are getting annoyed once again with the boxing on show and start to boo.
A ten round fight may all be about tactics but neither fighter seems intent on finishing this by knockout, which is disappointing considering their records.
