The US national security spokesperson, John Kirby, says gaps remain between Israel and Hamas in ceasefire negotiations. Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Kirby said the US would keep pushing for a truce: 'We wouldn't have sent a team over there if we didn't think that we had a shot here. And we're going to take every shot we can to see if we can get this ceasefire deal in place'
