Louisiana revealed the state's 2024 "I Voted" sticker that residents will take home after casting their ballot for the presidential election.

Secretary of State Nancy Landry unveiled the newest sticker at the Old Governor's Mansion in Baton Rouge on Monday. The sticker was designed by Shreveport native William Joyce, an Academy and Emmy award-winning artist, author and filmmaker. Joyce gained recognition after working as the concept artist for Pixar Animation Studios' hit 1995 movie "Toy Story."

The design features a cartoon crawfish styling a black top hat and dress shoes, along with a blue tuxedo that covers a portion of his two enormous claws. Behind the smiling crawfish is a circular, golden-yellow background with the words "I Voted" in a blue and bold font.

“To have such a talented and renowned Louisiana artist like William Joyce designing our 2024 "I Voted" sticker is a great honor,” Gov. Jeff Landry said in a news release. “I know all Louisiana voters will enjoy receiving this beautiful sticker after making their voices heard in the upcoming election.”

The presidential election takes place Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Past sticker designs

Louisiana's 2024 sticker differs from past designs created by artists across the state.

In 2016, past secretary of state Tom Schedler and the family of New Iberia artist George Rodrigue presented a sticker that featured his famous "Blue Dog" painting.

In 2019, Lafayette artist Tony Bernard, who worked under Rodrigue, was commissioned to design an "I Voted" sticker. Bernard's sticker displayed Louisiana's state bird, the brown pelican, with a crown resting on its head. Below the pelican's wing were the words "union," "justice" and "confidence."

Three years later, New Orleans artist Becky Fos designed a sticker titled "Louisiana State of Mind," featuring the state capital building under a patchy pastel pink and blue sky.
