Uruguay can close on record

Both Uruguay and Colombia have looked like forces to be reckoned with over the course of the Copa America but Marcelo Bielsa’s men may just edge what promises to be an entertaining spectacle.

Uruguay won all three group games, scoring nine goals in the process, and have only lost two of their previous 19 matches in all competitions. In that time they have beaten reigning champions Argentina and twice defeated Brazil, one of the latter wins coming in a penalty shoot-out in the previous round.

Colombia have arguably looked in even better shape on a 27-match unbeaten run in all competitions and topped what could have been a tricky group containing Brazil, Costa Rica and Panama.

While they have proved difficult to beat, their record at the Copa America may stunt the growing optimism across the Colombian faithful. They have only been crowned champions once in their history and only have one other final appearance to their name.

Uruguay, meanwhile, are level with Argentina on 15 tournament successes and a win in this semi-final could earn them a chance to face Lionel Messi and Co to claim their 16th title.

Under Bielsa, Uruguay look good enough to get the job done but don’t be surprised if Colombia trouble their goal.

Nunez can make his mark

Darwin Nunez scored in each of his first two appearances at the finals but could not find a way through either the Bolivia or Brazil defence.

Only Salomon Rondon of Venezuela has registered more shots on target than Nunez’s 16 at the Copa America but it looks only a matter of time before the Liverpool man finds the target again.

Colombia cautions feature in bet builder

We have already outlined Colombia and Uruguay’s attacking threat so both teams to score kicks off our bet builder, meaning we don’t have to commit to a result.

The second selection is for Colombia to be shown over 1.5 cards in what is expected to be a tough game. Nestor Lorenzo’s side have been shown six yellow cards in their four games so far, two in each of their group games but none in the comfortable 5-0 win over Panama in the quarter-finals.

Uruguay’s last two opponents at the tournament have been shown two yellow cards so we are expecting that to continue in North Carolina.

The final part of our three-fold bet builder is under 10.5 corners in the game, with Uruguay averaging 5.5 at the tournament and Colombia four.

Under 10.5 corners is a selection that would have landed in three of Colombia’s four games at Copa America and the same is true for Uruguay.

Uruguay vs Colombia tip 3: Both teams to score, over 1.5 Colombia cards and under 10.5 corners @ 29/10 with BetVictor
