Arch Manning – with a little help from uncle Eli Manning – flipped his commitment on Tuesday.
We're talking about "EA Sports College Football 25," of course. Arch Manning – who will be a redshirt freshman quarterback at Texas this season – confirmed that he will be "in the game" on X. The accompanying video with Eli Manning plays right into the family's quarterback legacy.

Why did Arch Manning opt in to 'EA Sports College Football 25?'
Manning – the son of Cooper Manning – is part of arguably the most-famous football family in college football. Archie Manning, Arch's grandfather, was a quarterback at Ole Miss. Peyton Manning and Eli Manning enjoyed high-profile careers at Tennessee and Ole Miss, respectively, before combining to win four Super Bowl championships in the NFL.
On March 5, Manning announced his likeness would not be used in the highly-anticipated upcoming release of "EA Sports College Football 25." Manning reversed his decision in the X announcement.
In the video, Eli Manning – Arch's uncle – is calling a play for Arch, who shouts out a cadence: "Green 18 … Green 18 … Omaha? … Set … Hut.”
That's a tribute to his uncle Peyton. Arch then runs a play on the new video game and confirms, "EA Sports … I'm in the game."
College players were offered $600 and a copy of the game to have their likeness used. On3.com reports Manning received between $50-$60 thousand to promote the game.
Arch Manning's outlook at Texas for 2025
Manning will be the most-popular backup quarterback in the country to start the 2024 season. Quinn Ewers returns as the starter after leading the Longhorns to the College Football Playoff last season, and Ewers is projected to be a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Manning told The Athletic he has no intention of entering the transfer portal.
"It's tough because you want to be out there playing with your boys,” Arch Manning told The Athletic at the Manning Passing Academy. "But (it came down to) just realizing there's nowhere else I want to be, and it was my dream to play at Texas. I'm going to stick it out and play there eventually."

Manning completed 2 of 5 passes for 30 yards last season for the Longhorns. He had 355 yards and three TDs in the Texas spring game on April 20, which increased speculation about his role this season. ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum said Manning would be the starter by the end of the season, but he has since clarified those comments.
