Yahoo has joined DraftKings and FanDuel in putting the fantasy on hold for New Yorkers.

State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced Tuesday that Yahoo, which also operates a daily fantasy sports site, would halt its activities in New York.

Yahoo’s move comes a day after DraftKings and FanDuel agreed to stop taking bets in New York and put their legal battle with Schneiderman on hold until at least September.

The deal was intended to give the state Legislature time to pass legislation that would allow the sites to operate legally with oversight from the state.

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced Tuesday that Yahoo will halt its fantasy sports operations in New York.

“New York law has long prohibited sports wagering, including betting on daily fantasy sports,” Schneiderman said in a statement. “As long as that’s the case, I will continue to enforce the law vigorously, and I am glad these companies have agreed to follow it.”

Schneiderman has argued that DraftKings and FanDuel operate games of chance in violation of state gambling laws.

In December, a state judge ruled that the attorney general was likely to prevail in his lawsuit and issued an injunction halting the sites’ operations in New York.

An appellate court, however, granted a stay of that injunction and scheduled further arguments in the case for later this year.

DraftKings and FanDuel had argued they operate games of skill, not chance, and should be allowed to continue operating in the state.

State lawmakers said this week they expect to adopt legislation legalizing daily fantasy sports before the end of the Legislature’s session in June.
