The Municipality of Jasper is implementing a FIRE BAN in the Town of Jasper effective Friday, July 12th until further notice.
Jasper National Park is also implementing a FIRE BAN in the National Park effective Friday, July 12th until further notice.
The Fire Chief has the authority to issue a fire ban in the Town of Jasper. The Superintendent has the authority to issue a fire ban in Jasper National Park.
The fire ban will help firefighting resources be more readily available where they are needed most and reduce the likelihood of any new human-caused wildfires.
This FIRE BAN includes ALL open fires, including:
• Fires in fire pits (including private backyards)
• Charcoal briquettes
• Outdoor deep fryers
• Tiki torches
• Outdoor wood burning stoves
• The transfer station is no longer accepting any burnable items. All bins are full and unable to be burned during the fire ban.
Propane or Natural Gas BBQ's, propane fire pits, and wood pellet smokers are allowed. Ensure that your propane or natural gas appliance is CSA approved and is shut down after use.
