Join chef and hospitality entrepreneur Ryan Hardy on a journey to experience the dynamic cuisine and rich heritage of Mexico City. From a food-focused tour highlighting the top taco joints and restaurants to a morning foraging for edible mushrooms in the forest, Ryan will showcase Mexico City’s ever-evolving culinary scene. Learn about Mexico’s vibrant history and culture through a private after-hours visit of the National Anthropology Museum, as well as expert-guided tours of Centro Historico and Frida Kahlo’s house, and familiarize yourself with the legendary work of architect Luis Barragán at Casa Pedregal.

Trip Highlights

  • Embark on a journey through Mexico City’s culinary scene, hosted by Charlie Bird’s Ryan Hardy and his wife, Agatha Capacchione. Ryan will showcase the city’s gastronomic heritage on a food-focused walking tour in Roma and Condesa to his favorite spots, a visit to the San Juan Pugibet Market followed by a hands-on cooking lesson in a private home and more. Plus, a festive farewell dinner at world-renowned Pujol.

  • Discover the rich history, culture and design of Mexico City with private after-hours tours of the National Anthropology Museum and Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul, as well as a visit to Luis Barragán’s Casa Pedregal.

  • Head outside the city center for a mushroom foraging experience with expert Nanae Watabe. Following a hike in the forest scavenging for different kinds of edible fungi, enjoy a delicious picnic-style lunch freshly prepared on the spot.

    Ryan Hardy is the chef, founder and CEO of the Delicious Hospitality Group (DHG), a New York City-based group focused on designing thoughtful, approachable, cohesive culinary experiences. His first restaurant, Charlie Bird opened in June 2013, and became an instant classic, recognized as Restaurant of the Year by Eater. Two years later, Ryan opened Pasquale Jones, Neo-Neapolitan restaurant in Nolita. Pete Wells of The New York Times famously named the Clam Pizza at Pasquale Jones one of the Top 10 Dishes of 2016. In 2018, Ryan opened Legacy Records restaurant, Ada’s Place cocktail bar and Easy Victor Café in the Hudson Yards neighborhood. In 2022, Ryan grew his footprint in Nolita with Bar Pasquale, a Sicilian-inspired restaurant next door to Pasquale Jones. Ryan has also expanded his portfolio to include Silver Sands Motel in Greenport, Long Island. Ryan has been named a “Rising Star” by the James Beard Foundation, a “Top Chef ” by Esquire, a four-time finalist for “Best Chef, Southwest” by the James Beard Foundation and one of the “Most Sustainable Chefs in America” by Slow Food.
