This post contains mild spoilers for "Longlegs."
After a lengthy, impressive marketing campaign that maintained pretty much all of the mystery (which is tough to do these days), director Oz Perkins' "Longlegs" hit theaters recently. Based on the early response from critics and the huge turnout at the box office, it seems the much-hyped horror flick was worth the wait. Not just for a totally transformative performance by Nicolas Cage as the killer either, as the whole cast delivers their A-game. Specifically, Alicia Witt, of "Orange is the New Black" fame, gives a performance in the film that's been labeled as a masterclass.
Witt recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about her unexpected turn as Ruth in the film. Ruth is the mother of Maika Monroe's Lee, the FBI agent tasked with tracking down a mysterious serial killer, played by Cage. Ruth ends up becoming one heck of a...

In an era where audiences are peddled an onslaught of remakes, sequels, and requels, few attempts at adapting existing works really manage to stand out. That one of these precious few was immediately trashed by critics who didn’t understand it and mismanaged by a company that was too scared to court controversy, is a shame. That show, though you may not expect it, was none other than Paramount’s own “Heathers”, which aired in 2018.
The series, created by Jason Micallef, had the same basics as Daniel Waters and Michael Lehmann’s film of the same name, fixating on a group of students at Westerberg High School in Sherwood, Ohio, and the deeply messy politics and behavior that comes with that. It retained the main crew of three “mean-girls” Heathers, along with the blasé “good person” Veronica and her faux-tortured murderer love interest Jd.

Horror comedy Reginald the Vampire is not being renewed for a third season at Syfy, TVLine has learned exclusively.
The series was an adaptation of Johnny B. Truant’s Fat Vampire book series. Created and penned by Harley Peyton (Twin Peaks, Chucky) who also served as showrunner, the dramedy imagined a world populated by “beautiful, fit and vain vampires.” Reginald Andres (played by Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s Jacob Batalon) tumbled headlong into it as an unlikely hero who navigated every kind of obstacle — the girl he loves but can’t be with, a bully manager at work and the vampire chieftain who wants him dead.

At just 18 years old, George Baron had already completed work on an impressively ambitious directorial debut. Baron crafted The Blue Rose as an ode to his greatest inspiration, David Lynch, weaving together elements of mystery, surrealism, and nostalgia.
The film introduces us to a 1950s small town where everything seems picturesquely idyllic on the surface. But a murder has occurred, shaking the community to its core. Into this unsettling situation step Detectives Dalton and Lilly, eager young officers hoping to make their mark. They find themselves drawn into an eerie investigation stretching far deeper than first expected.
As the story unfolds, the lines between reality and fantasy start to blur. Dreamlike sequences emerge alongside strange symbols and unnerving characters. Baron invites us into a world where nothing is quite as it seems. The mystery only grows more tangled as Dalton and Lilly sink further into surreal encounters and unearth chilling secrets long buried.

On behalf of Brats everywhere, Kyle MacLachlan appears to be planting the seeds for a Charli Xcx video set in the Lynch-ian universe.
While discussing his newfound appreciation for her sixth studio album Brat, the Golden Globe nominee reacted to memes comparing his Twin Peaks: The Return character Dougie Jones’ lime green blazer to Charli’s new aesthetic.
“Love that. Funny enough, I hadn’t even thought about that until I saw it,” MacLachlan told GQ. “I was like, Oh my god, we set the trend.”
In Showtime’s 2017 Twin Peaks revival, MacLachlan reprised his role as FBI Agent Dale Cooper, as well as his dark doppelganger and Dougie, who was a tulpa created by the doppelganger to avoid returning to the Black Lodge.
MacLachlan previously portrayed the special agent in Twin Peaks, which ran for two seasons from 1990 to 1991, followed by the 1992 prequel Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me.

“Shōgun” led the 40th Television Critics Association Awards on Friday with four wins, including Program of the Year.
The FX show prevailed in every category in which it was nominated as it also won drama series and new program, while Anna Sawai defeated co-star Hiroyuki Sanada for the gender-neutral Individual Achievement in Drama prize. Sawai is the ninth consecutive woman to win the award.

Could you imagine David Duchovny as Danny Tanner, Joey Gladstone, or Jesse Katsopolis on Full House? Well, it could have happened, as the actor recently revealed on his Fail Better podcast that he auditioned for each one of those roles.
Duchovny obviously didn’t get the parts, but at the time, he was certain it was going to happen. “I auditioned for all three parts on Full House,” Duchovny said. “At first, they had me for, I think, the dad. And then they had me for the Stamos character. And then they had me for the other guy. I was thinking, ‘I’ve got to get one of these, and it’s going to change my life.’” At the time, Duchovny was a struggling actor who was auditioning for a lot of different pilots. “I had plenty of those pilots that I went up for when I was first out in L.

The actor and singer explains how starring alongside Nicolas Cage in the deeply unsettling new horror Longlegs helped her deal with a cancer diagnosis and the tragic death of her parents
So many uncanny things happened on the set of Longlegs – and not just Nicolas Cage in full serial killer makeup staying in character between takes – that surely it seeped into the deeply unsettling feel of the film. “Like clusters of birds, eagles, showing up in unexpected ways,” says Alicia Witt. “I’m getting shivers just talking about it. When she and Osgood Perkins, the film’s writer and director, were having an early conversation on the phone about her role as Ruth, the mother of a young FBI agent, he asked her about working with David Lynch. “I started answering and he said, ‘I just have...

David Lynch hasn’t directed a feature film since Inland Empire in 2006, but he has directed many shorts since then, as well as all 18 episodes of Twin Peaks: The Return. A while back, we heard that he’s hoping to make an animated film called Snootworld, which was rejected by the Netflix streaming service… but while we wait to find out whether or not Snootworld is going to find a home, Lynch is working with Chrystabell to send a new music album out into the world. This album is called Cellophane Memories and has a street date of August 2nd. Copies are available to pre-order at This Link.
In a video posted to X at the end of May, Lynch said, “Ladies and gentlemen, something is coming along for you to see and hear. And it will be coming along on June 5.” As it turns out, that “something” was a...

David Lynch and Chrystabell have unveiled “The Answers to the Questions,” the latest song from the duo”s forthcoming collaborative album, Cellophane Memories.
Across six stirring minutes, Lynch and Chrystabell conjure a moody, slow-burning atmosphere on “The Answers to the Questions.” Chrystabell utters phrases and repeats them like mantras, her entrancing vocals layered together in a collage. A solemn, cinematic guitar strums underneath her, giving the track a more mysterious edge.
“The Answers to the Questions” also arrives with an accompanying visual directed and animated by David Lynch. The visual is mostly a still image of a room drawn in black, with Chrystabell in the doorway — however, as the song burns along, the visual slowly changes and Lynch’s typical surrealism creeps in. Watch the official visualizer below.

Despite the fact that it was beloved by critics, adored by its fans and featured the greatest mustache in the history of television, Parks and Recreation was in constant jeopardy of being taken off of the air.
NBC treated the show so shabbily that during the sixth season, it was put on hiatus for months, and replaced with episodes of The Voice, an SNL clip show and a live version of The Sound of Music starring Carrie Underwood. As Vulture noted at the time, this was likely because NBC wanted to boost viewership of Sean Saves the World, a Sean Hayes-led sitcom that lasted for just 13 episodes and is remembered by precisely no one.
Well, it turns out that Parks and Rec was even more endangered than many of us thought.

The actor and musician answers your questions on Twin Peaks, that song by Catatonia and the importance of failure
Is it true that you were completely broke and willing to give up acting when the offer for The X-Files turned up? feirefitz
No. I was pretty broke all along. I wasn’t raised with money. I was doing odd jobs, catering, bartending. I did a few commercials. I had acted in four or five movies and also Twin Peaks. I wasn’t rolling in dough, but I wasn’t broke.
What was it like working with the St Bernard in Beethoven? MrNiceGuy
I don’t really remember the actual dog because I worked with a puppet. This was 1992 so there wasn’t much CGI going on. Most of the effects in movies were practical. The Beethoven dog who moved his eyebrows and does all the things dogs can’t do was animatronic.

FX’s “The Bear” has been the series equivalent of a three-star Michelin, James Beard Award-winning restaurant since its premiere in 2022. Created by writer/director/product Christopher Storer, the hit show revolves around Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), a chef from the fine dining world in New York, who returns to his home in Chicago to run the family’s sandwich shop after the suicide of his brother. The first season won 10 Emmys including best comedy series and actor in a comedy series for White. Besides earning a Peabody, “The Bear” also performed well at the SAG Awards and the Golden Globes. The second season is a strong Emmy contender and the third season which just dropped will probably follow suit in 2025.
Since the early days of TV, restaurants, nightclubs, coffee shops, bars and diners have played an important role in countless series including the beloved multi-Emmy Award-winning 1982-93 NBC sitcom “Cheers”. In fact,...

Good mysteries are hard to do well.
You have to play fair, giving the audience enough clues to figure out the truth but not so many clues that the answer is obvious.
Some TV mysteries were so well done that we kicked ourselves for not realizing the solution before it was revealed, and we're celebrating those mysteries today.
Ideally, all shows should have a bit of mystery, so some of the best ones are shows you wouldn't expect, such as cartoons or comedies.
Every genre of show can keep certain things secret, teasing viewers with clues so they think they know what's going on but have to tune in to find out if they're right.

The State of the Race
Unlike the other acting categories, it seems like the best is yet to come for the Best Supporting Actress race. So far, two of the few performances that actually have stood out include Cannes winners Zoe Saldaña and Selena Gomez from musical crime drama “Emilia Pérez” (though Saldaña could possibly move up categories). Then there is Emily Watson, who won an award at the Berlin Film Festival for her role opposite recent Best Actor winner Cillian Murphy in “Small Things Like These,” which Lionsgate is set to distribute.

These savvy pundits from major media outlets have chimed in with their predictions, and the majority of them believe the trophy will go to Nestor Carbonell (“Shōgun”). The other potential nominees, per the Experts’ current racetrack odds, are Michael Emerson (“Fallout”), John Turturro (“Mr. and Mrs. Smith”), Kyle MacLachlan (“Fallout”) and Paul Dano (“Mr. and Mrs. Smith”).

Three years have gone by since we heard that Olivia Scott Welch of Shudder’s The Sacrifice Game and Netflix’s Fear Street trilogy would be starring in writer/director George Baron’s feature debut The Blue Rose, which is described as a surreal, genre-bending noir film… and now we finally know when we’re going to have a chance to see The Blue Rose. Dark Sky Films has announced that they will be giving the film a digital/VOD and limited theatrical release on July 12th! Along with that announcement comes the unveiling of a trailer, which you can check out in the embed above.
Set in the 1950s, The Blue Rose follows the one-night journey of two rookie detectives as they set out to solve a seemingly clear-cut homicide, only to find themselves in an alternate reality of their worst nightmares.

One of the most important and unusual shows of the 21st century, the sci-fi drama The Oa, was canceled after its second season. And this is probably the worst decision Netflix has ever made.
In 2016, the world of television was very different than it is today: auteur series were still a rare exception to the rule. Breakthroughs like Paolo Sorrentino's TV arthouse The Young Pope only set the stage for David Lynch's magnum opus, the 18-hour Twin Peaks Season 3, released a year later.
The Oa Was One of the Biggest TV Events of 2010s
And even against this backdrop, the first season of The Oa stood out for its mystery, its sincerity, and its uncompromising pressure on the viewer to believe in the most fantastic things.

David Lynch's 1984 film adaptation of Frank Herbert's "Dune" represented a turning point in the director's career. Prior to 1984, Lynch caused a stir on the Midnight Movie circuit with his debut feature, the nightmarish "Eraserhead." He followed that with the Mel Brooks-produced biopic "The Elephant Man" in 1980, a film that was nominated for eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. It won none. Regardless, Lynch was now poised to be a Hollywood player, despite his penchant for surrealism and unusual creative process.
In the early '80s, Lynch was infamously approached to direct "Return of the Jedi," a project he didn't understand. Lynch's story of meeting George Lucas is legendary, and is widely available to watch on YouTube. Instead of "Jedi," Lynch's opted to make "Dune," a massively ambitious sci-fi film with a $42 million budget. Herbert's book is notoriously psychedelic, and Lynch wanted to retain the novel's bonkers spirit,...

Twin Peaks, an iconic television series that premiered in 1990, continues to work its charm audiences and critics alike. The never-before-seen blend of surrealism, mystery, and dark humor has left a lasting mark on television, inspiring countless shows and filmmakers. It’s safe to say that Twin Peaks remains a bona fide phenomenon decades after its debut. These days, Twin Peaks stands as a timeless piece of art that trumps all genres and rules of filmmaking. Inspiration and Creative Process
In the dimly lit corners of academia, where theories and musings intertwine, the seeds of “Shadowplay” found fertile ground. It all began with an unfinished theory paper—an exploration of David Lynch's enigmatic universe—that the filmmaker penned during their college days. But this wasn't destined to remain a mere academic exercise. No, it sprouted tendrils of imagination, reaching beyond the ivory towers.
The twist came when the filmmaker dared to transplant this fan project into the tropical soil of Malaysia. The supernatural elements that had captivated them in Lynch's work resonated with the rich tapestry of Malay mythology. Suddenly, “Twin Peaks” met the equatorial heat, and the collision birthed something altogether new—a cinematic hybrid.
And then, like a serendipitous revelation, “Mulholland Drive” flickered across their screen. Lynch's masterpiece ignited a creative wildfire within the filmmaker. They seized their treatment—an homage to...

BenDavid Grabinski is a fan of offbeat sequels.
“I’ve spent a long time being in rooms pitching very left-turn sequels for preexisting IP and movies and TV shows,” the writer-producer told TheWrap. “And usually, people are like, ‘No, that’s too bold. Can you just do something much simpler?’ And then they don’t hire me.”
But in the case of Netflix series “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off,” Grabinski found a kindred spirit in Bryan Lee O’Malley, creator of the original “Scott Pilgrim” comic book series, which was adapted into a live-action movie directed by Edgar Wright in 2010.
For inspiration, Grabinski and O’Malley watched every episode of David Lynch’s brilliant if polarizing 2018 return to his cult television series “Twin Peaks,” as well as movies like “Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon a Time,” “Gremlins 2: The New Batch” and “Ocean’s Twelve.” “We both respond to big swings. ‘Scott Pilgrim’ was a big swing.

The most direct metaphor in David Lynch’s canon arrives early on in 1986’s Blue Velvet. After an opening credits sequence set against blue velvet curtains and accompanied by Angelo Badalamenti’s swooning score, Lynch offers up a montage of classic Americana, including gleaming white picket fences, a fire truck with a dog, and roses that gleam with a feverish red hue. Bobby Vinton’s version of the title song serves as the soundtrack to these images, and, with this song, Lynch signals both his yearning for and disbelief in this idyllic world—a conflict in emotions that would drive his subsequent film and television productions. In case this conflict is lost on viewers, Lynch ends his montage with a father collapsing from a malady as he waters his front yard, and the camera homes in on blades of grass, pressing further into the ground until we can see black insects festering underneath the surface.

David Lynch’s career has been marked by innovative and often surreal films like Mullholland Drive and the cult TV series Twin Peaks. However, one project remains a particular sore point for the acclaimed director: his 1984 film adaptation of Frank Herbert’s Dune. Reflecting on this movie, Lynch has revealed that it is perhaps his biggest regret in a storied filmmaking career. A Film Without Final Cut Dune, featuring Kyle MacLachlan as Paul Atreides, was an ambitious project. Spanning 8,000 years into the future, it presents a complex narrative of intergalactic feudal society. Yet despite its potential, Lynch has confessed that...

Fox was less than a decade old when it launched The X-Files as the breakthrough show that would put the network on the map the way Twin Peaks had done for ABC. The X-Files was squeezed into a rather awkward time slot, sandwiched between other compelling TV dramas like Law & Order and ER.
But The X-Files pilot worked thanks to three factors: creator Chris Carter's bet on exploring viewers' belief in alien abductions, a brilliant cast, and the promise of being the first dark mystery show on cable. The mix gave the show a nine-year run, two feature films, and a two-season revival in the late 2010s.
The X-Files Is About to Receive a Reboot
Last year, it was announced that the X-Files reboot would be helmed by the director of two Black Panther films, Ryan Coogler, and Carter said his colleague has good ideas for a new project.

The X-Files Is About to Receive a Reboot
Last year, it was announced that the X-Files reboot would be helmed by the director of two Black Panther films, Ryan Coogler, and Carter said his colleague has good ideas for a new project.

“Immortal Thieves: The Bloody Heist”, a gripping tale of betrayal and immortality, is set to make its world premiere at the highly anticipated Los Angeles Film Festival on June 13, 2024. Directed by Paul Overacker and featuring a stellar cast, the film promises to captivate audiences with its unique blend of horror and heist elements.
In “Immortal Thieves: The Bloody Heist”, a daring group of thieves embarks on a perilous mission to steal a mysterious package from an eerie mansion. However, their plans take a sinister turn when they uncover supernatural forces at work and face betrayals that threaten their very existence.
The film is helmed by director Paul Overacker, known for his innovative storytelling techniques. Overacker, inspired by the works of Quentin Tarantino, opted for an inconsistent timeline approach challenging audiences to piece together the heist amidst engaging narratives.

Twice a month Joe Lipsett will dissect a new Amityville Horror film to explore how the “franchise” has evolved in increasingly ludicrous directions. This is “The Amityville IP.”
We’ve finally arrived at the first of ten 2023 Amityville titles! First up is writer/director Jack Hunter II’s Amityville Ride-Share, a ~60 minute found footage film featuring loosely interconnected (or not) clips.
In some ways, Ride-Share feels reminiscent of the ill-advised pandemic title Amityville Hex, which exclusively featured YouTube creators doing their take on a viral video challenge.
The difference between this and Hex, however, is that there appears to be a knowing wink of self-awareness to the material. And while that may be giving Hunter II and dialogue writer Dann Eudy too much credit, even if it is unintentional, the bizarre meta commentary about gimmicky, cash grab sequels makes Ride-Share more interesting in the long run.

Flathead is a game that takes the simplest of concepts and uses it to masterfully build a palpable sensation of dread and tension around a seemingly innocent core concept. Being lucky enough to work as a gaming journalist, it is a rare occurrence that a game comes along that I know nothing about. I was so glad that I was able to go into Flathead completely blind.
If you had told me that a game based solely around the rudimentary concept of higher or lower would be the best thing I have played this month so far, I’d have laughed you out of the room. Yet here we are, Flathead is great. If you have ever wondered what it would be like if David Lynch directed an episode of Play Your Cards Right, then Flathead provides the answer.
Flathead is available now on PC.

The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (Kviff) on Monday added a David Lynch short and an episode of his iconic series Twin Peaks to its Franz Kafka retrospective and unveiled the program of its Out of the Past section, featuring classic, cult, rare and “unfairly overlooked” films, screened in their original or restored versions.
Among the highlights are restored versions of Wim Wenders’ 1984 neo-Western drama Paris, Texas and Two English Girls, François Truffaut’s 1971 period drama about a love triangle.
The Wenders film is part of a three-film program presented by Alexandre O. Philippe, the creator of documentary essays about the history of cinema, offering perspectives on the American landscape in cinema. He will also present his 2021 documentary The Taking (2021), which explores American mythology through the socio-philosophical dimensions of the American landscape.

Poolman had a lot going for it. Chris Pine, a solid and dependable actor, is directing for the first time while also playing a Lebowski-esque lead character. A Los Angeles-set neo-noir tale of conspiracy, scheming, and murder. And a stacked cast—filled with names like Annette Benning, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Clancy Brown, DeWanda Wise, Stephen Tobolowsky, alongside the legendary Danny DeVito and Ray Wise (Twin Peaks fans should know who that is). Sadly, the film turned out to be nothing but a big howler. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but absolutely nothing works here. The writing is clunky. The central mystery is dumber than the detective novels I used to write inside my head when I was in the seventh grade. Nothing good can be said about the acting either, except DeVito and Wise, who always fire no matter what the situation. The only saving grace is probably the retro-cool soundtrack,...

A fun video from the NCIS cast was filmed during a recent event for CBS Studios.
The primary cast members were asked which shows they would like NCIS to crossover with and which characters they’d switch lives with.
While everyone waits for new episodes, videos like this are a good way to pass the time.
The good news is that CBS already ordered NCIS Season 22. So, new episodes are coming.
But the long summer hiatus is only beginning, so it will be months before the new content arrives.
We could also soon learn about new folks joining the cast or how CBS will present the new prequel show this fall.

Remedy has a special place in a lot of gamers’ hearts all over the world, and for good reason. Crafting such odd and mysterious worlds such as Alan Wake, Max Payne, and Control will get you a very specific audience, and with it, a bit of a cult following.
That is exactly what has happened with Alan Wake 2, and although sales may not be as good as expected for a Aaa, 10/10 behemoth, that’s not stopping the developer from going full steam ahead with the mind-bending expansions, and thanks to Summer Game Fest, we finally have our first look.

Ready for a 3-minute excursion into the mind of David Lynch? Click play on this new music video created by the mastermind filmmaker David Lynch in his next collaboration with singer Chrystabell. This isn't the first time they've collaborated, this will be their third album together. The music video Lynch created is for one of the songs "Sublime Eternal Love" off of the new album called "Cellophane Memories" - arriving in August. There's not much to it, don't expecting anything totally crazy, but it is undeniably a Lynch creation for sure. Chrystabell & Lynch have had a relationship for years - in 1999, an agent introduced her. Together, they've released two albums before this one – This Train (2011) and Somewhere in the Nowhere (2016). She also appeared on the 2017 revival of Twin Peaks as Special Agent Tamara Preston. In an interview, Lynch explains he was inspired to make this "during a nighttime walk through...

It is happening again.
On May 27, David Lynch took to Twitter to announce a new project releasing on June 5, stating "Something is coming along.... for you to see and hear" in typical Lynch fashion. Now, I know what you're thinking: speculations about upcoming Lynch projects since "Twin Peaks: The Return" have always ended in disappointment, be it the baseless rumor that a new Lynch film was headed to Cannes in 2022 or the update about Netflix's (misguided) rejection of his long-gestating animated movie "Snootworld." While the legendary director's latest project is not a new film/series or anything "Twin Peaks"-related, it is a captivating, brand-new 10-song album with his longtime collaborator, Chrysta Bell (also known as Chrystabell). Titled "Cellophane Memories," the album is set to release on August 2, 2024, courtesy of Sacred Bones Records, but the Lynch-directed music video for the single, "Sublime Eternal Love," is now available for you to watch.

Enigmatic filmmaker David Lynch has reteamed with his longtime collaborator Chrystabell for a new album titled Cellophane Memories.
The album will be released on August 2 via Sacred Bones. Lynch has also directed a video for the album’s lead single Sublime Eternal Love, which you can watch above.
Lynch said today that the origins of the project came from a vision he experienced during a nighttime walk through a forest. Chrystabell said the album contains “many doors that are left open to wonder, wander and get turned around in.”
“It’s like mood music,” she said, “not that it creates mood, but more that it reflects your own.”
Cellophane Memories will mark Lynch’s first public project since Twin Peaks: The Return, which wrapped in 2017 on Showtime. The filmmaker teased a new project on Memorial Day, posting a video to X where he said: “Ladies and gentlemen, something is coming along…...

David Lynch’s New Project Is an Album and Music Video With Chrystabell From ‘Twin Peaks: The Return’

After enigmatic filmmaker David Lynch stirred up fans by teasing a new project over Memorial Day weekend, the project has been revealed as a new album with Chrystabell, the singer and actor who played FBI agent Tammy Preston in “Twin Peaks: The Return.”
“Ladies and gentlemen. Something is coming along for you to see and hear! And it will be coming along on June 5,” Lynch said in the teaser video.

God bless everyone who truly thought David Lynch announcing “something for you to see and hear” portended a fourth season of Twin Peaks or new feature. I long for anything even within the vicinity of such optimism, but longtime completists knew the safe money was on more music. Lo and behold: today brings the official unveiling of his next album Cellophane Memories, recorded with longtime collaborator Chrystabell, featuring contributions from the late Angelo Badalamenti, and arriving August 2 via Sacred Bones Records.
According to Spin, Cellophane Memories emerged from Lynch’s vision experienced “during a nighttime walk through a forest of tall trees, over the tops of which he saw a bright light” that became Chrystabell’s voice, and in turn “revealed a secret to him.”

David Lynch and Chrystabell are teaming up yet again, as they’ve announced a new collaborative album: Cellophane Memories, due on August 2nd via Sacred Bones Records. Along with the announcement, the two have shared the lead single “Sublime Eternal Love” and its Lynch-directed music video.
Cellophane Memories, like all things Lynch, will capture a dreamy sense of “loneliness and romance,” according to its press release. Featuring contributions from Chrystabell, Lynch, and the late composer Angelo Badalamenti, the project as a whole was inspired by a vision Lynch experienced when he saw a bright light shining over a line of trees on an autumn night. “As he recalls it, the light became the lilt of Chrystabell’s voice and revealed a secret to him,” the album announcement release reads.
In Chrystabell’s own words, the album contains “many doors that are left open to wonder, wander, and get turned around in.

In the words of The Giant, it is happening again… again. It being another collaboration between director David Lynch and singer/actress Chrystabell, who starred as FBI agent Tammy Preston in “Twin Peaks: The Return.”
Over the Memorial Day weekend, Lynch cryptically teased something new for audiences to “see and hear” on June 5. And no, the project is not the rebirth of his planned post-“Twin Peaks” series, “Unrecorded Night,” canceled during the pandemic. It’s an album with Chrystabell, “Cellophane Memories,” out August 2 via Sacred Bone records. And along with the Wednesday, June Five announcement, the label shared a new video for “Sublime Eternal Love,” featuring Chrystabell and directed by Lynch. Watch it below.
