X-Men: First Class from 2011 is unarguably one of the most entertaining films from the X-Men film series. With its engaging writing and incredibly commendable performances, the Michael Fassbender starrer was an easy hit among most of the fans and critics from the fanbase. But the final cut wasn’t what was originally intended to reach the screens.

Just like pretty much every other movie, this film also underwent a lot of snipping as well, and in the meanwhile, wounded up losing what would have been one of the best scenes of the entire saga. This is because the moment would have featured the commonly known vengeful and cruel Magneto putting on a woman’s dress — something you definitely don’t see every day!

Don't you just hate it when you get invited to the private island resort of an eccentric tech billionaire only to find out it's a ruse for some seriously dark shenanigans? Now, technically that's never happened to us (we just found Glass Onion really immersive honestly). It is however the fate that Zoë Kravitz's upcoming directorial debut Blink Twice has in store for Naomi Ackie, whose cocktail waitress Frida finds herself being whisked away for sun, sea, sand, and a side order of seriously sketch behaviour by Channing Tatum's megarich Slater King in the sinister new trailer for the buzzy psychological thriller. Check it out:
Bougie secluded getaway? Check. Confiscated phones? Check. Everybody wearing the same clothes every day? Check. A secret box of polaroids, stashed in a heavily locked cupboard, discovered by our increasingly fraught protagonist? Check, check, and treble check! The verdict's in folks — it looks...

We could all use a vacation. Wouldn’t it be nice to kick back, tuck into a good book, sip alcohol from a coconut, and dine on portions of fancy food a bird would say is minuscule? Luckily, Slater King (Channing Tatum) wants us to join him on his private island for a well-deserved rest. It’s a getaway where phones are discouraged, naps in the sun are mandatory, and memory loss is one of the paradise’s many amenities. Wait, what? Unfortunately, people who visit Slater’s island tend to lose themselves, and nothing is what it seems. In the latest Blink Twice trailer, Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut welcomes audiences to a dystopia as deadly as it is picturesque.

"What are we gonna do about you?" Amazon MGM Studios has revealed a second trailer for Blink Twice, a mystery thriller marking the feature directorial debut of actress Zoë Kravitz. She's co-writing & directing in collaboration with another writer from the "High Fidelity" series. "This summer, make some memories." Naomi Ackie stars as Frida is a young waitress in Los Angeles who has her eye on tech entrepreneur Slater King. She's invited on a dream vacation to his private island, where strange things start to happen. Frida will have to uncover the truth if she wants to make it out alive. Uh oh... Co-starring Channing Tatum as Slater, plus Christian Slater, Simon Rex, Adria Arjona, Kyle MacLachlan, Haley Joel Osment, Geena Davis, and Alia Shawkat as her friend Jess. This still looks a lot like Don't Worry Darling and/or Spiderhead, set on a very fancy island where lots of weird,...

From everything that’s been gathered so far, “Blink Twice” looks to be a twisted combination of “Saltburn” and HBO’s “White Lotus.” A seemingly exotic getaway that slowly transforms into something more menacing and dark. A place where everything is not as it seems for the lead protagonist, who’s reeled in by the charm of her host and romantic idol. Considering the success of last year’s “Saltburn” and the Mike White TV series, this is a winning formula.

Catwoman starring Halle Berry is widely regarded as one of the worst comic book movies of all time, but the notorious 2004 flop had attracted its share of negativity before it even hit theaters - in part due to Berry's revealing costume.
All previous takes on Catwoman had donned a variation of a single-piece catsuit, while the outfit Patience Price wore in the movie exposed more skin and completely revamped the mask.
Apparently, an image of Berry sporting an earlier version of the suit leaked online, and fans of Batman's feline foe were not pleased.
"That was the first thing that started the negativity," producer Denise Di Novi tells EW. "It was an early shot before we’d perfected it. It was so different than what people were used to in the other movie. A catsuit, by definition, everything is covered up. We thought it’d be cool to be more rock & roll and bare.

Catwoman was released in 2004 to overwhelmingly negative reviews and a disappointing $82.4 million box office haul. Widely considered one of the worst comic book movies ever made, it's now primarily remembered for Halle Berry's acceptance speech at the Razzies.
Entertainment Weekly recently caught up with Catwoman's cast and creative team to learn more about the movie and where it all went wrong.
We'd strongly recommend reading the piece as it goes into great detail about the ill-fated project. According to writer John Brancato, "The interesting thing was all the rules handed to us from the first phone call: 'You can’t mention Batman.' That was an absolute rule. [It was] a Warner Bros. corporate decision to keep this separate from the Batman universe."
While that was disappointing for DC fans, Berry welcomed the decision. "The beauty of doing it was because it wasn’t in the Batman universe. Men, historically, get...

Channing Tatum said his preparations for his role in Blink Twice differed from anything he’s done before.
The 21 Jump Street star recently opened up in an interview with Total Film about starring in his fiancée Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut. He plays tech billionaire Slater King in the mystery thriller.
“It’s the first time I’ve ever played anyone [like this],” Tatum explained. “Every character I play, I usually have some sort of love for or a connection to.”
However, it was much different with this character. “I don’t think I’ll ever tell anybody what I had to create inside my head to play this person,” the Fly Me to the Moon actor added. “He’s a psychopath.”
Blink Twice follows Slater, who meets cocktail waitress Frida (Naomi Ackie) at his fundraising gala and invites her to join him and his friends on a dream vacation on his private island.

Zoë Kravitz is taking on a new role- she’s making her directorial debut with a thriller! Zoë is well known for her acting, but now she’s stepping behind the camera. The movie was originally called “Pussy Island” but getting it made wasn’t easy for Zoë due to the, um, attention-grabbing title.
In a real talk interview with Entertainment Weekly, Zoë opened up about the challenges. She said people just aren’t comfortable with the word “pussy” yet. The film groups that rate movies and the theaters showing it both had issues. Zoë even said some women told her they wouldn’t want to see a movie called that!
As a first-time director, Zoë had to listen to what audiences thought. “I want people to actually see the movie,” she said. “And I want them to feel okay watching it.” So in the end, she decided to change the name.

Zoë Kravitz is ready to make a splash with her directorial debut, even if audiences might not be.
While discussing her upcoming thriller Blink Twice, which premieres August 23, Kravitz reflected on the movie’s original title, Pussy Island, and why they ultimately had to come up with a new one.

Zoë Kravitz has her first acting gig since “The Batman” lined up. Deadline reports that the actress (and director; Kravitz’s feature debut “Blink Twice“ hits theaters on August 23) will star alongside Austin Butler in Darren Aronofsky‘s upcoming crime thriller “Caught Stealing.” No word on who Kravitz will play yet, but it’s a splashy role to mark her onscreen return (and shows that the 2022 two-fer of “The Batman” and “Kimi” isn’t a flash in the pan for her).

The Batman star Zoë Kravitz will join Austin Butler in Aronofsky’s 90s-set New York thriller, Caught Stealing.
Zoë Kravitz is reportedly in talks to star opposite Austin Butler in Darren Aronofsky’s next project, Caught Stealing. Butler’s involvement in the project was announced back in March, just as Butler was riding high off the back of a lauded villainous turn in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two. We haven’t heard much in the way of news since regarding the film, which is still in pre-production.
It looks like Aronofsky may have found his other lead for the film, however, with Kravitz is in advanced talks to join the production according to The Hollywood Reporter. The actor is in the midst of an impressive run herself, having made a splash as Selina Kyle in 2022’s The Batman before turning her attention to directing in the last couple of years.

Blink twice and you might have missed the title change that Zoë Kravitz had to make to appease…well, just about everybody that read it. So hopefully we don’t offend anyone here, but the original title for Blink Twice was Pussy Island, which you might be able to see why didn’t sit well along the way.
Even though the title of Pussy Island had been the original title, Zoë Kravitz told Entertainment Weekly that it was a major sticking point as the project developed. “It was made very clear to me that ‘p*ssy is a word that we, our society, are not ready to embrace yet. There were a lot of roadblocks along the way, whether it be the MPAA not wanting to put it on a poster, or a billboard, or a kiosk; movie theaters not wanting to put it on a ticket.” Of course, showing...

Zoë Kravitz recently explained to Entertainment Weekly the process behind renaming her upcoming feature directorial debut, which stars Channing Tatum and Naomi Ackie. The title of the project when it was first announced was “Pussy Island,” but somewhere along the line it got changed to “Blink Twice.”
“It was made very clear to me that ‘pussy’ is a word that we, our society, are not ready to embrace yet,” Kravitz said about the change. “There were a lot of roadblocks along the way, whether it be the MPAA not wanting to put it on a poster, or a billboard, or a kiosk; movie theaters not wanting to put it on a ticket.”

Zoë Kravitz was just trying to “reclaim” the word pussy. The “Batman” star, who previously played Catwoman herself, recently told Entertainment Weekly that her feature directorial debut “Pussy Island” was retitled to “Blink Twice” after she realized that some women found the term “pussy” offensive.
“Interestingly enough, after researching it, women were offended by the word, and women seeing the title were saying, ‘I don’t want to see that movie,’ which is part of the reason I wanted to try and use the word, which is trying to reclaim the word, and not make it something that we’re so uncomfortable using,” Kravitz said. “But we’re not there yet. And I think that’s something I have the responsibility as a filmmaker to listen to. I care about people seeing the film, and I care about how it makes people feel.”

Hit Netflix comedy A Family Affair and Zoe Kravitz’s upcoming thriller Blink Twice were both once called very different things
A Family Affair, currently one of the most-watched movies on Netflix, is like Amazon’s recent movie The Idea of You, only reconfigured to more explicitly serve a stereotypical audience of moms and their gen Z daughters. In it, writer Brooke Harwood (Nicole Kidman) unexpectedly falls in love with movie star Chris Cole (Zac Efron), 16 years her junior, much to the chagrin of Brooke’s twentysomething daughter Zara (Joey King), who works as Chris’s beleaguered personal assistant. If The Idea of You felt a bit like erotic fanfic, A Family Affair is more like a sitcom with some Nancy Meyers-style flattery thrown in. It has the mildest hint of sex – Zara catches Chris and Brooke mid-coitus, and Kidman shows off a little side boob – and its low-key...

Wow. The power of women.
I remember Nicole Kidman's speech at the 2018 Golden Globes like it was yesterday. You certainly could sense a genuine sisterhood between the five principle stars of Big Little Lies, HBO's unexpectedly titanic, initially limited series. Amid the backdrop of #MeToo, it was quite a moment for Nicole Kidman and company.
The actress's output in the 2010s was, charitably, something of a mixed bag. For every dazzling turn in Rabbit Hole (2010), The Paperboy (2012), or Paddington (2014), there were plenty of barely released (if at all) misfires like Tresspass (2011), The Railway Man (2013), and Queen of the Desert (2015). With the notable exception of Lion (2016), things looked awfully bleak for Kidmaniacs stateside heading into a post-presidential election year...

Robert Pattinson’s The Batman had some of the best fight scenes that could rival Ben Affleck’s Batman vs Superman. The film had only a few fight scenes that were not very lengthy, but they were executed brilliantly with the help of amazing fight choreography and camera work. Pattinson’s stunt combinations were quick, had great technique, and were executed in a pretty realistic manner.

The Penguin, the upcoming Max spin-off focusing on Colin Farrell's take on classic DC Comics villain Oswald Cobblepot, is set to take place very soon after the events of Matt Reeves' The Batman, focusing on "Oz" as he attempts to establish himself as Gotham City's new crime boss.

Channing Tatum is determined to continue his trilogy streak.
After wrapping up “Magic Mike” with the third film in 2023, Tatum confirmed that the long-awaited follow-up to 2014 sequel “22 Jump Street” is still in development.
Tatum told ComicBook that he and co-star Jonah Hill have “been trying” to get the third “21 Jump Street” feature greenlit for years. Stars can access some of the world’s most spectacular jewels for red-carpet and onstage appearances — Rihanna’s plethora of diamonds at the 2023 Super Bowl and Lady Gaga wearing the Tiffany & Co. diamond to the Academy Awards are two moments that spring to mind. It's been a while since we had any official word of Matt Reeves' plans for his sequel to The Batman, and the lack of updates following the announcement that James Gunn and Peter Safran would be heading up a new Dcu led to speculation that the movie may have been delayed yet again or possibly even shelved altogether.
Gunn has always assured fans that this was not the case, and one of the actors involved with the film has now shared a positive production update.
According to Andy Serkis (Alfred Pennyworth), cameras are set to start rolling early next year.

Warner Bros. gave the CineEurope trade show a healthy assortment of big name exclusives in its presentation on Tuesday.
Arguably chief among them was the explosive new trailer for “Joker: Folie à Deux,” Todd Phillips’ sequel to his billion-dollar-topping 2019 smash hit, which the audience in Barcelona got the very first taste of in the build up to the film’s release in October. The first trailer — which debuted at CinemaCon in April — racked up 167 million views in its first 24 hours. Warner Bros. didn’t reveal when the new trailer would be released publicly.
Phillips was among a who’s who of major names the studio had called upon to record special messages for CineEurope. Other included Jack Black, speaking from the set of the “Minecraft” movie, James Gunn, David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan as they took a break from filming DC’s “Superman” reboot, Ewan McGregor and Anne Hathaway from the set of “Flowervale Street,...

Warner Bros brought twin tornadoes to CineEurope today, showing off an extended new look at the Daisy Edgar-Jones/Glen Powell starrer Twisters which the studio is releasing internationally. From Lee Isaac Chung, the action thriller starts overseas rollout on July 17 and storms into domestic cinemas via Universal on July 19.
Bookending the Warner Bros presentation was a brand new trailer for Todd Phillips’ highly anticipated sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga. We previously got a first look at the first trailer during April’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas. No word on when the one shown today in Barcelona will drop online. The film releases overseas on October 2 and domestically on October4.
Back at the top of the Warner presentation, President of International Theatrical Distribution Andrew Cripps reinforced the studio’s commitment to the big screen experience. “That’s still our business, plain and simple,” he said...
