Game notes: The Tigers continue their home stand before the All-Star break Tuesday as they look for their fifth straight win. The Tigers are still significantly behind the division-leading Cleveland Guardians, but have a chance to gain at least some of that ground back in the four-game series with Cleveland, with Game 2 set for Tuesday. The bad new for Detroit is it will likely need to provide more run support than it did Monday for Keider Montero when the Tigers won, 1-0, as a struggling Kenta Maeda is set to take the mound. The 36-year-old Japanese starter gave up nine hits and nine runs last time out, and will need to be a lot better for the Tigers to continue their win streak.
