Woman, 34, found shot to death on Warren lawn

Warren police are investigating the shooting death of an Oak Park woman at a condo complex this morning.

Police did not name the woman, but said they found the 34-year-old on the front lawn of a residence in the 30000 block of Berghway Trail at the Stoneridge at Heritage Village condos near 13 Mile and Mound.

Police received a 911 call about a possible shooting about 7:30 a.m. and received information that a female was shot and was in the front of 30000 Berghway Trail. Officers found her on the lawn, next to her white 2016 Ford Fusion, with multiple gunshot wounds to her torso, police said.

She was taken to St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Madison Heights, where she was pronounced dead just before 8 a.m., according to a release.

A witness saw a person fleeing the scene on foot right after the gunshots. Police did not release a description of the person in the release.

Officers and a Troy police K-9 searched the area, but found nothing.

Earlier today, police said they were conducting interviews. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
