Maple Leaf Gardens, former home to the Maple Leafs now sits empty, awaiting its fate as a grocery store. While it thankfully wasn't torn down, its impending conversion to a grocery store doesn't exactly rank as imaginative either, even if there will be some hockey-themed elements to it. It's a shame that the board of the company that owns The Maple Leafs wouldn't sell it to one Eugene Melnyk, owner of the St. Mike's Majors, who wanted to move them there. Why? Because he owns the Ottawa Senators, the archirivals of the Leafs as well. Pity.
