Toronto waterfront 1957
The Kasugasan Maru was a sister ship of the Kinkasan Maru known as the world's first fully automated ship. It was designed with a more compact hull that allowed it to navigate the St. Lawrence Seaway, although it had the same cargo capacity as other ships serving the New York route for Mitsui Lines, a Japanese shipping company.
