I was a teenage photographer but was distracted by other creative pursuits in the 80s & 90s until I started taking digital pics as an input into design work. Soon I started shooting the street I lived on & started trying to make pictures of city blocks. I'm now assembling the blocks I shot and other pics into books. More info: linktr.ee/kevinsteele
Newly assembled blocks are posted to Flickr whenever and I post daily to www.instagram.com/portraits_of_queen_west/
This is what this box said for the previous fifteen years or so: Cats. Storefronts. Litter. That’s a lot of what you will find here. Lately, the storefronts have been winning, but if cats, storefronts, or litter (yeah, right) are your bag there's a serious back catalogue.

Write a testimonialKevin is the most perceptive person I know. This makes him incredibly insightful in conversation and through his photography. He is an artist.
A long time inspiration.
Kevin is my mom's neighbor's roomate's uncles' best friend's sister's really good coffee friend's secret lover.
I've known Kevin for close to 25 years. I've known Kevin for close to 25 years. I've known him to attack each medium that grab his interest with ferrocity; he has what I suspect to be an instinctual understanding of "the graphic" which he has applied brilliantly across his drawings, painting, videography, interface design AND photography. I approach Kevin's Parkdale/Toronto photos from two vantage points: He continues to capture the simple beauty in his neighborhood and his ability to simultaneously mock and praise the place continuously makes me smile. I also use these photos as a way back to a place I adore. There's a sentimentality in these images that gives one the opportunity to simply take a walk around; something I'd do often when I lived there... AND something I find myself doing on Kevin's page quite regularily.

I've been watching Kevin since before I found Flickr, and was delighted to find him here -- and then to find out what a great guy he is. Kevin owns my neighbourhood. Sometimes when I'm walking down the street, I say, "This is a Kevin Steele place." He also owns the only cats whose photographs I often actually look own.
Don't bother searching for the Holy Graile in Kevin's stream....Toby has long since eaten it
Amazing. Inspirational. {makes me want to take better pics}
i've been a regular visitor to kevin's site since 2002, and despite the fact that i'm sad that it's slowly being forgotten, i'm super glad he's up on flickr. kevin has an eye that captures the intricacies of the fine city of toronto like no other.
I've been secretly watching Kevin for a long time now. He has a great eye for street photography.
