Pregnant Gypsy Rose Blanchard Cries as She Shares Wish for Baby: 'I Want to Be Everything My Mother Wasn't'

The 'Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup' star revealed that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Ken Urker.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard has big hopes for motherhood.

On Tuesday, the Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup star revealed that she and her boyfriend, Ken Urker, are expecting their first child together.

The 32-year-old reality TV star shared the news in an intimate YouTube video, where she spoke about the moment she found out she was expecting her child, pregnancy cravings and how far along she is...11 weeks!

Gypsy became overwhelmed with emotion as she expressed her biggest wish for her child.

"It's an amazing feeling when your whole world shifts, suddenly it's not about you, it's not about anything other than the tiny little life that's inside you that you are protecting," she said through tears in the clip. "That tiny life is a baby, a little tiny human that's yours, that you have to make sure that you protect, you love, you take care of. All of the things that I wish I had when I was little."

She added, "All the things that I wanted in a mother, I want to give to this baby. Knowing that I am a mother now, and I'm happy, and I just want to be a good mother for my child. I want to be everything my mother wasn't."

Gypsy's tumultuous childhood with her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, is publicly documented.

In 2015, Gypsy asked her then-boyfriend, Nicholas "Nick" Godejohn, to kill her mother after she suffered years of abuse due to Munchausen by proxy, a rare disorder in which a guardian exaggerates or induces illness in a child for attention and sympathy. Nick proceeded to commit the crime while Gypsy waited in the bathroom.

Gypsy pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for her role in the crime, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison at the Chillicothe Correctional Center. In December 2023, Gypsy was released from prison after eight years, which was 85 percent of her sentence.

In her video, Gypsy shared that she and Ken both had complicated relationships with their parents, and promised to create a better environment for their child.

"Ken and I had a wonderful talk about the future for him and I, and we both agree that we both grew up in broken homes," she revealed. "I grew up without a father pretty much, and he grew up in a family where his parents got divorced. And I think we both agree that neither one of us wants our child to be in that kind of a situation."

She added, "With that being said, it doesn't matter what we go through him and I, whatever we face, we'll face it together. Because we have a baby now, we have something that's bigger than either one of us. So, whatever comes our way, whatever drama gets thrown at us on social media, we're gonna stick together because we are a family now."

Gypsy and Ken began their previous relationship after connecting through a prison pen pal program. The pair got engaged in 2019, but the two split and Gypsy connected with Ryan Anderson -- whom she married in 2022 -- while in prison. After announcing her divorce from Ryan, Gypsy and Ken confirmed their rekindled romance in April with some PDA-filled pics.

Last month, Gypsy shared that Ken relocated to Louisiana to be closer to her, though they weren't living together because of her probation conditions.

Gypsy and Ken are set to welcome their little bundle in January 2025. So far, no other details, including the baby's sex, have been revealed. Taking to her personal Instagram account, Gypsy shared pictures of her and Ken posing with the sonogram.

"We are proud to announce we are expecting our first child in January 2025💗 announcement video on YouTube (link in bio) Thank you to the photographer @m0therofchaos for the amazing photos," the reality TV star wrote alongside a series of pics of her and Ken, smiling as they show off the first pics of their baby.

In May, Gypsy spoke to ET about the divine timing that brought her and Ken back together and what their future holds.

"When my marriage was over and I walked away, that's when Ken and I were developing a reconnection and starting to find that back in 2019, back in 2017, it wasn't the right time for us," she told ET of where she and her new beau are now. "Now that I'm free, we're able to reconnect and see if that right time is now."
