Will Hurricane Beryl hit Louisville? Remnants bring enhanced risk of tornadoes to area.

Winds, flooding and even tornadoes are possible on Tuesday as remnants of Hurricane Beryl are expected to move through the Ohio Valley, according to the National Weather Service of Louisville.

Several tornadoes and heavy rainfall are possible on Tuesday as the remnants of the hurricane pass through parts of Southern Indiana and Kentucky, the NWS of Louisville stated on Tuesday afternoon. Due to the tornado risk, the Storm Prediction Center has several places, including Louisville, under enhanced risk.

The best chances of severe weather range from 3-11 p.m., but systems are expected to dissipate around midnight. Localized flooding is possible where the rain is heavier, a release previously stated.

Several counties, including Jefferson County and Oldham County, are under a Hazardous Weather Outlook until Tuesday evening, according to NWS Louisville. Strong to severe thunderstorms will move over west Kentucky beginning Tuesday afternoon before sweeping east and toward Interstate 65, the previous release stated.

A large portion of the Louisville metro area has been placed under an enhanced risk for severe weather Tuesday, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service in Louisville.

According to the forecast, the temperature on Tuesday will be in the high 80s, with a drop to the low 70s in the evening.

Louisville forecast

Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 5 p.m. High near 87 degrees. Calm wind becoming southeast 5-7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday evening: Showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 a.m. Low around 70. Southeast wind around 9 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Wednesday: A 30% chance of showers, mainly before 2 p.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Southwest wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Wednesday night: A 10% chance of showers before 8 p.m. Mostly clear, with a low around 65 degrees. West wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 86 degrees. Calm wind.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 68 degrees.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 90 degrees.
