Another Fourth of July has come and gone, and while some of you most likely spent that time celebrating America in the form of cookouts, fireworks, and watching Will Smith punch aliens in the face for the millionth time, others may have opted to trade in those chill vibes for an adrenaline rush by way of Ti West’s latest horror creation, MaXXXine. You know, just like the Founding Fathers would want!

Serving as the third and final installment of the X franchise, MaXXXine centers around the story of Maxine Minx (Mia Goth), six years after the gruesome events that took place in X, and follows the upward trajectory of her budding career in Hollywood. But with the Night Stalker on the loose and a looming past she just can’t seem to shake, Maxine’s stardom is soon threatened and could end before it has even begun — though, not if she has anything to say about it.

Basically, if you’re a fan of the horror genre and are craving a good jolt of terror, this film is definitely a must-see. But how do you go about doing so? Here’s every grisly detail you need to know…

Where can I currently watch MaXXXine?

MaXXXine was released in theaters on July 5, 2024. That means that, as of right now, the only possible way to get your eyes on this film is by physically going to an actual movie theater to see it. And really, is there any better way to watch a slasher movie than by having it projected to you on a massive screen? Sure, you’ll probably have nightmares, but the popcorn and junior mints more than make up for it.

When will Maxxxine be available for streaming?

The good news is that if you’d rather skip the whole public viewing experience, you will be able to view the film in the comfort of your own home, eventually. Since MaXXXine is an A24 film, it will end up streaming on Max, thanks to a newly brokered deal between the two companies. It’s impossible to know when exactly the film will be available for streaming until Max officially announces a date, but given how fast these things tend to happen nowadays, it will most likely be sometime this year. Perhaps it'll be just in time for the Halloween season. So if you’re willing to be patient, your next horror obsession will soon be just a few clicks away.

What if I don’t have Max?

If you don’t want to go to the theater and don’t have (or want) Max, then renting or buying the film outright could end up becoming your only other option moving forward, most likely on Amazon Prime or AppleTV+. Sure, it’ll cost you a little bit out of pocket, but if we’re being honest, you really can’t put a price on a good scare.
