OVC abuzz with activity during May Day holiday

This May Day holiday, Wuhan became a top destination among domestic cities thanks to a range of activities and events.

At the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC), Eason Chan's world tour concert in Wuhan saw him perform multiple classic songs during the encore stage.

From May 1 to 2, the Wuhan Strawberry Music Festival featured performances by domestic and international bands, as well as singers such as Zhao Lei, Marian Hill, and Peace Hotel.

At the China Optics Valley Convention & Exhibition Center, the ninth China Games Festival attracted a large crowd during the holiday period. It featured various displays, interactive sections, and performances related to games and anime.

At the China Architecture Science and Technology Museum, more than 100 sets of relics and over 200 exhibits were showcased to elucidate the architectural career, creative concepts, and outstanding achievements of the Spanish architectural master, Antonio Gaudi.

From May 1 to 5, Wuhan Joy City recorded a total of 475,800 visitors, with sales increasing by over 30 percent compared to the previous year. Wuhan Poly Plaza saw a 39.2-percent increase in foot traffic over the first four days of the holiday, with a 47.8-percent year-on-year growth in sales. During the holiday, the Optics Valley pedestrian street witnessed 1.65 million visitors.
