In Corpus Christi, city officials estimate there are more than 40 roadway points that are well-known to flood in heavy rain. It's important to know, though, that it can flood anywhere given the right circumstances.

Here are some of the areas you should steer clear of during severe weather, according to authorities:

Southside

• Ennis Joslin Road at South Padre Island Drive
• Rodd Field Road at SPID 
• Fred's Folly Drive at Slough Road
• Staples Street at SPID
• Everhart Road at SPID
• Crosstown Expressway at S. Staples Street

Central

• Kostoryz Road at SPID
• Buford Street at 3rd Street
• Staples Street at Coleman Avenue
• Staples Street at Furman Avenue
• Staples Street from Booty Street and Six Points
• Ayers Street at 6th Street
• Staples Street at Blucher Street
• Brawner Parkway at Kostoryz Road
• Brawner Parkway, from Kostoryz Road to Devon Drive
• Lawnview Street at Texan Trail

Northside

• Port Avenue at Leopard Street
• Leopard Street and Palm Drive
• Brownlee Boulevard at Interstate 37
• Interstate 37 access roads at Navigation Boulevard

Westside

• Baldwin Boulevard at Morgan Avenue
• Morgan Avenue at Crosstown Expressway
• Agnes Street from McBride Lane to SPID
