South Texas surfers ride out tropical storm and hurricane waves

Northeast winds and thunderstorms in the Gulf of Mexico created larger-than-usual waves on area beaches. High tides were attributed to the Gulf storms and the moon's pull on the Earth. The National Weather Service issued a coastal flood watch for today for beaches between Port O'Connor and Baffin Bay. A tropical depression in Bay of Campeche Tuesday could bring rain to the Coastal Bend Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. The depression was moving northwest Tuesday.
