Jesus Gomez

Jesus Enrique Gomez, age 70, passed away on June 27, 2024. Jesus Enrique Gomez was born on 18 October 1953 to Ramon Gomez and Maria Antonia Garcia. He earned his GED through the Military and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in computer communications and information systems from the University of Columbia, Missouri. Jesus Gomez served in the United States Army for over 30 years (November 17, 1972 – December 31, 2000). He served in leadership positions of squad leader, platoon sergeant, first sergeant, chief instructor, battalion command sergeant major, and Garrison Command Sergeant Major. His last assignment was as the Commandant of the Maneuver Support Center Noncommissioned Officers Academy in Fort Leonard Wood Missouri where he retired in 2000.

He is a graduate of the Drill Sergeant School, the First Sergeant Course, the Sergeants Major Academy, the Command Sergeants Major Designee Course and the Seventh Army Command Sergeants Major Course. Soon after his retirement from the US Army, Jesus began his civilian service as Plans and Operations Specialist for the Maneuver Support Center in Fort Leonard Wood. He served as Planner, Emergency Manager and Supervisor of Plans & Security. Jesus re-located his family to Corpus Christi Army Depot in 2010 to serve as the Emergency Manager. He also served as Security Officer, Chief for Plans & Programs and completed his service as Chief, Personnel Security Branch. Jesus enjoyed: wood working, building things with his hands, watching horror movies, listening to oldies, watching sports (especially the Lakers and the Rams).

He will always be remembered for his dedication to Military and Federal service, Love of his Family and strawberry milkshakes. Jesus Enrique Gomez was a loving Husband, Father, & Brother.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ramon Gomez, and Maria Antonia Garcia. Jesus Enrique Gomez is survived by: His wife Rebecca M. Gomez, their three adult children: Ruben Gomez, Christina Gomez-Bain, and Anthony Gomez; their Grandchildren: Briana Gomez, Elisa Gomez, Iris Bain, and Adriel Gomez; His brother, Alfredo Gomez; and his nephew, Daniel Gomez.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. The Recitation of the Rosary and Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. that same afternoon at Corpus Christi Funeral Home.
