Bowling alley to open in downtown Toronto

Toronto will finally get a downtown bowling alley later this year when The Ballroom opens in the old Montana's space at Richmond and John streets. Currently under construction ($4 million price tag, 20,000 square feet over 3 floors), the space has already been garnering some buzz with its advertising campaign featuring strikes, spares and turkeys. There's even a web site which kinda gives the concept away.

According to a source, The Ballroom is slated to open as early as mid-December, will include ten 10 pin bowling lanes, ping pong tables, 47 flat screen TVs, a local-food inspired menu, 15 different beers on tap, two outdoor patios and will be as much an upscale sports bar as it is a bowling alley.
