Surrey Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to get in contact

A man is in hospital with “critical” injuries after a car crash in West Sussex.

Surrey Police said the driver of a Vauxhall Astra was taken to hospital after the single-vehicle crash in Copthorne Bank, Copthorne, at about 20:15 BST on Saturday.

Copthorne sits close to the border of Surrey and West Sussex.

The force is appealing for anyone who saw what happened to get in contact.

Officers confirmed that the man was still in hospital on Sunday morning.

“If you witnessed the collision, or have any relevant information, please contact us quoting SYP-20240706-0641 via 101 live chat on our website,” a spokesperson said.

South East Coast Ambulance Service was contacted for comment.
