Lake Minnewanka is a glacial lake in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. It’s located approximately 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) northeast of the town of Banff. The lake is 21 kilometers (13 mi) long and 142 meters (466 ft) deep, making it the second-longest lake in the mountain parks of the Canadian Rockies.

The name “Minnewanka” is a Stoney Nakoda word meaning “Lake of the Spirits.” The lake is home to a variety of wildlife, including bears, elk, deer, and waterfowl. It is also a popular destination for fishing, boating, and swimming.
