NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- The countdown is on: The New York Mets home opener at Citi Field is on April 6 -- but baseball isn't the only thing on the menu this season at the 42,000-seat stadium.

WCBS 880 got a preview of what's in store for fans who head to Citi Field for a game:

NEW SCOREBOARD:
The Mets officially unveiled the team's new 17,000-square-foot scoreboard out in center field, which is now the biggest in MLB. "People who come here, they want to see something new." Mets CMO Andy Goldberg said. "They want to be amazed."

FOOD:
The Mets also unveiled the new plethora of choices to eat at Citi Field that will satisfy any foodie's cravings.

While well-known celebrity chefs such as Sunny Anderson and Marc Murphy signed on to help design the tasting menu, local neighborhood locations were also included in what's new.

Tang, who are known for their Korean rice bowls, Takumi Taco the Japanese-Mexican inspired tacos that began as a stand at Williamsburg's Smorgasburg and Empanada Mama, who are known for their abundant empanada choices like their mac and cheese wheat flour empanada and a cheeseburger wheat flour empanadas which are all heading to Citi Field this year.

Sundae Donuts will also be there to satisfy your sweet tooth, their Milkshake topped with a glazed donut, and popcorn.

Fresco’s Grand Cantina features both sweet and savory options. Their Ropa Vieja Quesadilla, made with a Cuban-style shredded beef quesadilla and a four-cheese blend served with a delicious chipotle mayo and sour cream is a definite crowd pleaser. You can also try their equally as delicious churro nachos made with a cinnamon sugar blend then drizzled with dulce de leche, powdered sugar and whipped cream.

For those looking for a healthier option, they can check out The Nourish Spot offering their delicious cucumber limeade as well as their berry banana slammer, a strawberry, blueberry, banana, coconut cream, and almond milk.

Shake Shack, always a fan favorite will also be serving their famous burgers and shakes at Citi Field.

PROMOTION & GIVEAWAYS:
The Mets unveiled their new Cadillac Club at Payson’s, a membership-only speakeasy that will open behind the right-field fence at Citi Field. Memberships in the first row cost $24,999 per seat, according to team spokeswoman Katie Agostin.

The Mets also announced a new special ticket plan aimed at the city's college students. The plan would sell tickets of $15 and which will be all done through text message as a way to attract the younger generation that couldn’t afford to attend games.
