Jean-Marc Bustamante is a renowned artist known best for his photographs and site-specific installations. His work presents a complex synthesis of past experiences, cultural referents, and the formal attributes of light and color. “My aim is to make the viewer become aware of his or her responsibility in what he or she is looking at,” the artist has explained. Born on June 4, 1952 in Toulouse, France, he apprenticed with the American photographer William Klein in Paris during 1970s. From 1983 to 1987, the artist collaborated with French sculptor Bernard Bazile, producing works under the name Bazile Bustamante.
