I know this movie is getting a lot of flack and that was the main reason I waited so long to purchase, but I found a good deal and decided to bite. I was very pleasantly surprised. I agree that it adds to the overall feel and "atmosphere" of the movie if you watch it on your computer. The entire movie takes place basically on a computer screen. It's a group of kids all video chatting with each other. That's it. There are no cuts from this that bring you into a traditionally shot movie style. If that doesn't sound like your cup of tea, avoid this at all costs. It takes something special to pull off a movie like this and while this is far from a perfect movie, it kept me entertained. I looked at it as myself being in on the conversation with these kids, seeing what they were going through on my own computer, basically being helpless to do anything about it. It was a cool feeling. Obviously, with this being a horror flick, teenagers aren't always the brightest and make certain dumb decisions as well as showing their true colors when it comes to a life and death situation.

I don't think you necessarily have to be a millennial to "get" this premise, as I've heard people say to me. It's just something that is clearly not for everyone. I held off on this simply because of reviews and regretted it, because it has actually become a favorite of mine, and I would have still been happy paying more than what I did for this. It's just another example of something that I should've just checked out because of interest rather than letting other people influence my opinion too much. I'd still say give this a rental first, just because of the way the movie is shot and presented can turn some people off to it. Still, I personally enjoyed it very much and don't regret the purchase at all.

This movie is AMAZING, and I am not in the least bit surprised how few people appreciate it. It isn't actually accurate to call it a "found footage" movie because there is no taping going on, the story happens live. It is brilliantly cleverly constructed. The thing that I appreciated immediately was that everything we're watching, all the computer apps, are 100% real. Always in movies they make up some website or something, here the whole thing takes place on Facebook, instagram, youtube, Skype, google, and macOS. Whenever something happens, you watch her google it for more information. And the actors are always just sitting in front of their computers. And there's a mystery, and excitement, and it's scary. I can tell from my own description it's difficult to explain how great this movie is. But you have to appreciate the brilliant CRAFT of it. I have not been so completely engrossed in a movie since Time Crimes. Here's an example of how great the movie was. You experience the tension of Blaire (the main character) thinking in a way that has never been shown on film before, and it could ONLY be done in this format. She would try to figure out the right thing to say to the "ghost," and she would type something, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, then she would back up and say something else, and it actually showed us what she was going through in a way that has never been seen before. As I said, the brilliance of this movie is about eight miles over the heads of most people on here.

The copy that I received had a few scratches and didn't want to play properly on my computer but also it really had more trouble playing on my PlayStation like it didn't want to play it at all on my PlayStation 😞. So in my opinion it's not PlayStation approve. But it did play more on a computer but didn't play all the way through because I guess I just got a bad copy. I just sent it back and look around for another copy. I don't recommend people to not buy this product I just probably got an unlucky bad copy at the time because other people have gotten good copies. But from what I seen so far it seemed like a pretty good scary movie.
Remember sometimes we get good DVDs and sometimes we get bad DVDs that come in good or bad conditions, it's not the seller's fault, sometimes it's the person who's delivering it.

This movie was pretty dumb. It was a thinly disguised attempt to warn teens about bullying. I like the concept of a video call gone wrong, but there are other and better horror films that handle this premise better

I always want a good web scary movie and there aren't many out there that satisfy me. I've seen this movie before and still I was intrigued and a bit nervous. The young actors were quite convincing and the storyline just held together....

Horrible. I bought this movie like I do most movies on Amazon because if I rent them and then want to buy it, i might as well have just bought it in the first place. This movie was only a few bucks more to purchase than rent so I figured, what the hell. Boy was I completely pissed after about 10 minutes. If I could give negative stars I would. I want my money back. I actually want the makers of this movie to reimburse me for my lost time in life, the whole 10 minutes this movie made it to on my screen before being fast forwarded to see if it changed at all, which it didn't.

So to start, this movie is almost 95% from the view of someone looking at a computer screen with Skype and Facebook open. Almost all the content happens on this screen. I can only think that this movie cost about 10 bucks to make. The acting is pathetic. The teens in this movie deserve to never act again. And you know it's bad when your son (12 years old) had watched this at a friends house and claimed that they turned it off.

My wife and I had started watching it, he came out and said, oh god, you didn't buy this did you? I said yea we did, he laughed and walked back into his room. After 10 minutes I knew we were headed for the movie selection screen soon. I fast forwarded it from the 10 minute mark and it was almost to the end before it cut away from this lame "computer screen" scene. Nothing I can say will prepare you for the sheer disaster this movie was.

If you want to punish your kids, make them watch this and take away the mobile devices / laptops and have them write a book report on it. Just having to watch it is punishment enough.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nuevo sub generó de terror.

Posteriormente llegarían películas como Unfriended Dark Web, Searching… y recientemente The Host. Pero Unfriended sería la percusora en este nuevo sub genero. Vale la pena.
El Blu-ray+Dvd+Digital Copy tiene audio en inglés y subtítulo en inglés.
NO tiene audio ni subtítulo en español.

Well I guess it was only a matter of time before the Internet got haunted too. Unfriended is a curious little experiment in putting together a slightly different horror film - it's not always entirely successful but is worth a watch.

The entire film takes place within the confines of an online video chat between a group of friends (young good looking Americans, you know the drill). All we see is the screen that one of the characters is looking at and the various websites, videos etc that she sees before her. The plot is a bit more generic - revolving around the suicide (that was filmed obviously) of a classmate of these guys. Someone suddenly infiltrates the online chat using the profile of the dead girl. Chaos and horror ensue.

Well kind of. It's not actually particularly scary at all but the novel approach to the storytelling keeps it interesting and reasonably fun. It's all utterly ridiculous of course but at least it's a bit different and has a certain entertainment value in its own way.
