Rachel Tawil Kenyon is cousin eleven of seventeen in a huge, out-loud Jewish family. She was born in New York, raised in Los Angeles, and is now settled in Nashville. Rachel credits her daughter for teaching her how to be a friend, her husband for showing her what love feels like, and her son for frosting her life with energy (in that order).

Rachel’s love of kids brought her to the teaching arena, although in her words, "I'm not a teacher, I just play one on Sundays". She has more than twenty years under her belt working with children and teens at her synagogue. Her curriculum focuses on informed choice, social action, and the power of kindness. She has been on the teaching staff for over 20 years, working with elementary and middle school ages. Rachel not only brings energy to the kids within the walls of the classroom, but also takes them to meet and volunteer with the organizations they support. Over the years, Rachel and her students have advocated for local, national and international non-profits, promoting awareness and fundraising for a wide variety of communities.

For Rachel, writing in rhyme comes naturally and writing about life comes from experience. Not a smooth journey by any means, Rachel lends her past choices and mistakes, and the lessons she has learned, to her writing.

Rachel is passionate about promoting literacy and a love of books. “I believe whole-heartedly that the key to decreasing poverty and injustice lies in literacy and education. And the best way I can participate in that effort is by helping kids find a love of reading.” She manages an ongoing book drive that has resulted in thousands of books for kids living with poverty.

Cute alphabet book, each letter is a letter about love/affection/doing things together. Not a storybook - pages are like D for dancing. Got for 3 yr old for Valentine’s Day & it was a hit. Pictures are colorful and vibrant. I would recommend.

Alphabet Love by Rachel Tawil Kenyon is an adorable way to teach your toddlers their ABCs. This chunky board book has 27 pages and measures about 7 by 8 inches, which is a great size for them to hold too.

Alphabet Love, of course, starts with A and ends with Z, teaching all sorts of fun things for toddlers to do all day. Q is for quiet time reading a book. . .X is for eXtra kisses for you. . .With lines like these, even the difficult letters in this sweet rhyming book, teach toddlers that they can have special moments throughout the day with their friends and loved ones. There are some bedtime lines making it a great book to read before bed. V is for Valentine, making this a really cute book to give for Valentine's Day too.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions within this review are my own.

Alphabet Love is a board book targeting little ones ages 1 – 4 years old and published by WorthyKids. This ABC book is a bedtime story book that not only helps your young ones learn their alphabet but uses great illustrations and a heart-shaped book to do that. Sometimes the author uses a physical thing such a B for bubbles to show the description of the letter and sometimes it’s a concept such as K for kindness. Illustrator Anna Süßbauer uses animals and insects as the book’s characters. The author uses rhyming and first-person storytelling to make the story fun. And that’s the whole concept of Alphabet Love – FUN! This is a fun book to read and it allows your child to learn and prepare for bed all at the same time.

This book would be great for the targeted age group, and even slightly older children.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.

Curl up with ALPHABET LOVE and your small child and go through the various letters. For example, “J is for Jammies – warm tummy, warm feet.” Illustrator Anna Süßbauer has fun animals for each letter. J shows a tiger in jammies bouncing on his bed. Rachel Tawil Kenyon has written a fascinating ride through the letters. You will delight to read this book over and over to teach your child their letters. As the back cover says, “Sweet and silly, this love-themed alphabet celebrates the special moments little ones share with the people they love.”

Your child will love the unique heart-shape design of this book. I highly recommend this well-done board book ALPHABET LOVE.

Alphabet Love is organized into simple sentences. This organization is great for wee ones. The literary tool employed in the story is imagery.

The primary medium used for Alphabet Love is colorful drawings.

Alphabet Love would make a great Valentine gift for wee ones. Or, any time of the year. I highly recommend Alphabet Love to wee ones.
