When I tell you I RAN to leave a review for this book…I knew I was going to love it, but I don’t think I was prepared for just how much. Everything about it is perfect, from the illustrations to the story itself. Just the cover alone made me tear up.I’m 37 and I am not ashamed to admit that I bought this book for ME. But, as someone who works with children for a living, this will also be going in my book rotation for work. As a lifelong “big girl”, I’m so glad that this book exists. It’s powerful and beautiful in every way.

This is a great book for older siblings to read to younger siblings. I also enjoyed the lesson of it as an adult. The story is powerful at any age and the illustrations and layout of the book is fresh and forces the reader to consider the character’s journey in a new way.

only dislike is the words around the pics were a bit hard to read- upside down - they were part of the art but also part of the story. the little girl in the story was adorable. I guess another dislike is that I wish the others had turned around their act- would have made a much happier ending but was still a great read

As a parent of an 8-year-old daughter navigating the complexities of anxiety and self-image, finding resources that resonate with her experiences has been paramount. This book, 'Big', has been a revelation for us. Its thoughtful narrative eloquently articulates the emotions and challenges she faces in various settings, offering her a sense of understanding and empowerment. Witnessing her identification with the protagonist's journey has been truly heartening; it's as if the book has given her a voice to express herself. For any parent seeking literature that addresses themes of self-image, self-esteem, and anxiety with sensitivity and insight, 'Big' is an invaluable addition to your library. It's a book that not only speaks to our children's experiences but also fosters important conversations about mental health and resilience.

I LOVE this book! Not only are the illustrations beautiful, but the content is relatable, powerful, and kid friendly. One of my students even told me he felt like the character in the book and I loved seeing him make a connection to explain his feelings. The message of taking up space to be who you are is beautiful.

My husband saw this on the daily show and asked me to order it. I had no idea what it was about but read it when it got delivered.

It is one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read. I cried. I will be reading this book to my newborn daughter for years to come and reinforcing its message over and over.

I never expected a children’s book to make me feel so seen.

Artwork is also beautiful and clever.
