The movie was good. It sucked you in and spun you around. You could feel alot of emotions, whatever they were, going on throughout. The director did a fine job in getting everything that could fit into the length of the movie. What we don't know is, if there is another part after this one.

Side note: I saw some reviews talking about no card. My opinion is...open the case up it is in there.

There is some child neglect/abuse at the start of the movie to set up the story which isn't great but it was very much a better written digimon the movie Willis section but brings such interesting lore to the universe

Definitely recommend this movie it was the best Digimon movie I've seen in a long while maybe even better than most movies I've seen in theaters the last 6 months min

While I'm sure there are moments of good writing in this movie we couldn't finish it at our house because there are traffic and extremely visceral depictions of child abuse in the first 20 minutes of the film. A small child, maybe 5 years old is shown being shaken, screamed at, and with massive bruises on his body. Clearly shown to be his mother inflicting the abuse. The motivation for the abuse is shown to be normal childhood things like accidental pants wetting and being a bit over eager.

It's fine to write a story that is darker and touches on mature themes but this is marketed as a children's movie and comes with zero warnings of potential triggers like child abuse and violence towards minors. I will be returning the movie because I feel this was a poor job of communication from the producers and marketing/distributors.

I know many who didn't like this movie because of how the main protagonist was kinda dull but I still enjoyed the movie to see how the kids have gotten to grow.
First saw this in theaters with my kiddo but realized it was not dubbed so him getting to see it and understand it was a great thing.

Bought this because I like Digimon. Watched this movie and it's better than I thought it would be. Even came with a card.

Like many I preorder and did not get my preorder bonus, contacting shout factory support they were both unhelpful and frankly rude.

If you promise a pre-order incentive it think it fairly reasonable to expect to get that item for pre-ordering but what do I know

4.0 out of 5 stars Good addition to the Digimon series, not amazing though

I watched this movie with my 7 year old and had zero prior knowledge of what this movie was about. This is a very personal story about overcoming childhood trauma. A few scenes were a little too heavy and I probably wouldn't have wanted him to watch if I was aware of them. In particular, a scene involving a very young boy being mistreated by his mother that I personally found deeply disturbing and another involving a baseball bat, an eye injury, and a subsequent character death that I feel was too gruesome for young kids.

Last Evolution Kizuna was epic and the ending was heartbreaking. Although I thoroughly enjoyed this film, it is definitely lacking in any kind of excitement or action. The story is focused on the backstory of the new character introduced for the film. The Adventure 02 characters may as well not even be in it as they don't add anything critical to the story and have no story arc themselves.

Like I said, I did enjoy this movie. I have a few issues with it but it's a solid 6 or 7 out of 10. I do like that Digimon leans towards an adult audience and this series still holds my attention as I approach my 40s.

On a side note, I already wanted a copy of this movie when it was announced and was unaware of the Digimon trading card debacle. My copy did not include any cards if that matters to you.
