The good points... The size is convenient. The screen is easier to see than a smartphone. It is lightweight and about the same size as my Kindle ebook. It is very easy to use while commuting.
I like the black frame of the screen.
The bad points... The storage space of 16 GB is too limited. About half of the space was immediately taken up with the operating software at the time that I turned it on. I could only download a few apps before the space was nearly full.
Buying this secondhand was a very bad experience for me. I received a model that had many chips and scratches on the screen and also chips and small dents in the body. The flaws were very visible at arm's length. It clearly looked secondhand. The seller also did not fulfill the requirements of packaging the iPad in a new clean cardboard box but rather it arrived in a padded envelope. The iPad did not work like new as promised either. It could only read the fingerprint log-in for 1 day before no longer functioning. It would malfunction and shut off mid-text while in operation. It did not seem to have been properly inspected and seemed more suitable for the recycling bin than for re-selling as refurbished.
The seller accepted it as a return but I felt cheated by the wording of the return process. The seller is at a whim as to whether they will reimburse shipping costs or not. Nothing was my fault as a buyer but somehow I was not reimbursed for the shipping costs. The label I was sent still resulted in the post office charging me over 700 yen to return and the shipping fees were not reimbursed when the price of the item was refunded.
Regardless that I had an unhappy experience with this particular seller for the iPad mini 4 wifi and cellular, I still wanted an iPad mini. I selected a newer model, with more storage space, from a different seller here on Amazon. Now I am extremely happy with the second seller's packaging, the inspection process, and the quality of the product.
