From the manufacturer

Six or eight or twelve years after the Civil War, a stagecoach hurtles through the wintry Wyoming landscape. The passengers, bounty hunter John Ruth (Kurt Russell) and his fugitive Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh), race towards the town of Red Rock where Ruth, known in these parts as 'The Hangman,' will bring Domergue to justice. Along the road, they encounter two strangers: Major Marquis Warren (Samuel L. Jackson), a black former union soldier turned infamous bounty hunter, and Chris Mannix (Walton Goggins), a southern renegade who claims to be the town’s new Sheriff. Losing their lead on the blizzard, Ruth, Domergue, Warren and Mannix seek refuge at Minnie's Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass. When they arrive at Minnie’s, they are greeted not by the proprietor but by four unfamiliar faces. Bob (Demian Bichir), who’s taking care of Minnie’s while she’s visiting her mother, is holed up with Oswaldo Mobray (Tim Roth), the hangman of Red Rock, cow-puncher Joe Gage (Michael Madsen), and Confederate General Sanford Smithers (Bruce Dern). As the storm overtakes the mountainside stopover, our eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all…

The Hateful Eight also stars Channing Tatum, James Parks, Dana Gourrier, Zoë Bell, Gene Jones, Keith Jefferson, Lee Horsley, Craig Stark, and Belinda Owino.

Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, The Hateful Eight is produced by Richard N. Gladstein, Stacey Sher and Shannon McIntosh. Harvey Weinstein, Bob Weinstein and Georgia Kacandes are executive producers, and Coco Francini and William Paul Clark are associate producers.

Good quality, no issues with the discs but the case doesn't close/click shut. We just switched it with an empty case we happened to have handy.

I think this is one of Tarantino's best films. It's really a kind of parlour mystery and reminded me, in the end, despite the inevitable blood-letting (that can't possibly be a spoiler) of Agatha Christie's tales of murder! the ploy is fairly simply, but cunningly told, if in a mannered 'Tarantino' way.
The performances were very good indeed, Samuel L. Jackson was once again very strong, and Jennifer Jason Leigh really stole the show with a really gritty, intense and sometimes heart-stopping performance. I thought 'Oscar' after watching her work in this film. Doubtful, but it would be deserved.
I don't know if Quentin himself shot the landscapes and atmospheric shots, but hats off to (likely) the 2nd unit director for giving us some very lovely photographs. the colour, by the way was excellent, and I thought the lighting and sound were flawless.

I certainly hope Tarantino keeps making films - despot my doubts about him as a person, I do enjoy his films, despite the violent language and images. There is something compelling about his films and it would be remiss not to compliment him on his directorial technique, which is simply excellent (again, if rather mannered).

Sitting on the fence? Jump! This one is a winner, and well worth more than one screening.

My favourite Tarantino movie. "The Hateful Eight" takes place during a blizzard in a haberdashery (a 19th century department/hardware store) in an isolated region of the west some short time after the end of the U. S. Civil War. The cast is fantastic (although, to be honest, I'm getting a bit tired of seeing the face and hearing the voice of Samuel L. Jackson). The acting is brilliant. The plot is as thick as the stew they serve and as captivating as a strip-show for a recent convict of some 25 years eloped from an all men's Turkish prison. This story is everything that Shakespeare wanted to write when he created such classics as "Hamlet," "MacBeth" and "Othello" but was ultimately unable to write. Tarantino is everything that Shakespeare wanted to be but lacked the skill.

Love the movie. Had no damage to the case I received. My only complaint is the ad/picture shown has the cardboard slip casing. My package is just the plastic, no slip. Not a huge deal but It seems unfair. I would have bought a copy with the slip elsewhere if I had known.

Other than that, no complaints. Fast delivery, fair price. No damage (although there really could have been, shipped only in a bubble wrap padded envelope.)

One of T's best in my opinion. Cinematography in 65mm really was something.
But a couple of negatives.
The "N" word was massively overused ( I lost count after 54 times) and it tarnished a superb film. Also, the sexual speech by Samuel Jackson was frankly bizarre.
BTW, for T fans Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was amazing and clever!
