ROSCOMMON COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- One person died and nine others were hospitalized after a crash involving three vehicles on Monday, according to the Gerrish Township Police Department.
Police said it is believed the one person who died "suffered a medical emergency while driving."
At 3 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to a report of a crash on East Higgins Lake Drive.
The driver of a Dodge Grand Caravan was traveling northbound when the vehicle "crossed the centerline of the road" and struck a Ford F-150 traveling southbound, police said in a statement.
Police said the F-150 rolled after the impact and came to a rest upside down on the road.
"The Grand Caravan then hit a second vehicle, a Black Chevrolet Silverado, also traveling Southbound behind the F-150," police said.
A total of nine people were hospitalized after the crash. Police did not elaborate on the severity of their injuries.
"The driver of the Caravan, who is believed to have suffered a medical emergency while driving did not survive the crash," police said.
East Higgins Lake Drive was closed for a little over three hours on Monday as authorities investigated the crash.
