This report summarizes issues discussed at a meeting whose aim was to discuss the current
extent ofagreement on critical issues in the taxonomy and identification of archaeological
remains of wheat (Triticum L.). Discussions focused on taxonomy and nomenclature, and
identification criteria for chaff and grain remains of glume and free-threshing wheats.
Recommendations are made here for good practice and for areas requiring further research.
